I see that there's nothing powering the rear wheels, in that case it should not have those beefy tires this gives it more friction, drag and weight all counter intuitive to the purpose of making this thing faster. double the thin wheels from the front to the back.

You should put a headlock gyro on that thing so it will take some of the workload off you when going straight-drag racing. I use a Futaba headlock gyro (or drift gyro) on my drag car and it goes straight as an arrow. All I have to focus on is hitting the throttle. Just a suggestion as it's very inexpensive around 30 dollars on eBay or Amazon for the Sky Rc gyro which works flawlessly also.

Maybe a dumb question, but won't a flap or flat tube in the chassis pointed upwards to the intake of the motor improve downforce a bit and help with speed, or will it pull the whole rig off balance?
