This scene made me realised why the character is so likeable. She doesn’t do it just to “be weird” she’s legitimately just being herself and is completely ok with that. She’s not putting on a show of confidence or quirkiness it’s literally just her being her

Really? How is that unbelievable? I swear sometimes people just over hype and praise actors for the stupidest things. All she was doing was flailing her body around and bugging her eyes out. There’s nothing spectacular or crazy about the scene that other people couldn’t do. I’ve seen people at real dances do weird shit like this. It’s not freaking rocket science

As a huge dance nerd I'm beyond impressed that she choreographed this herself, this references Fosse, Flamenco and the dance that OG Wednesday did in the original television series. There are seasoned choreographers that wouldn't be able to do something half this good. On a totally shallow note, her arms are PERFECTION. The control she has to throw them about with abandon and then pull in for small, controlled movement is a skill that lifelong dancers work forever to hone.

What I love about this scene is no one is making fun of her. They kinda are living for it. They are enjoying seeing her have fun. Even Bianca is not against the dancing. This dance is already iconic. It says she decides to keep her guards down a bit for Tyler and she initiates a flirt in her way. I say that because she is just doing her own thing but making eye contact one hundred percent on him while he is absolutely fascinated. Besides that, her flamenco moves is also a reference from the 90's movie where her parents passionately dance in a restaurant.

Omg yes! I've always viewed her dance as something like those fancy-looking birds that will dance to lure a mate. I know those are usually male birds, and that's not totally what she's doing- I'm not over here trying to day she was 100% initiating a mating ritual, just that this is how it comes across in my mind 😅 I don't see Wednesday doing this with anyone but someone she's completely comfortable with (and that just so happened to be a monster lol, very on-brand)
@fabrinisouza

@@ina6601. Yes!!! lol a mating danceeeee!!! That's it! If we analyze the former scene (which leads to the dance), Tyler is confessing the bad things he'd done and we can see that she didn't see that coming, but she doesn't judge him and she says she would have gone further lol She realizes he was not so innocent as she imagined and they somehow are connected: 2 messed-up kids trying to find their way. And then he says he likes her and she softens. C'mon!!!! As you said, she was completely confortable with him and she decided to amaze him with her dance. It is what is!!!

1:01 my absolute favorite part! The fact that Jenna coreographed this dance herself is insane, I though a professional dancer was behind every step of this masterpiece!! This is something only a person who truly understands the character would be able to do❤
@Shawn_Wright

I can do what she did in this scene, but could I have choreographed it? No. Could I have done it at age 20? An even bigger no. As someone who's been dancing in clubs for decades, I just want people to know that while this may not require a great deal of athleticism, it still requires a lot of skill. It's peak art. I'd gladly get off of the dance floor to give her room to do her thing.

Y'know why I love this? Wednesday is being herself. She genuinely does not give a shit that the whole room stops to stare at her. In a room full of white, she stands out in black. In a room full of followers, she's an independent thinker. Wednesday is unique in that way, and this dance is just the same. The quiet, moody, intellectually superior, dark girl is, for once, showing that she's enjoying herself in the most unique and Wednesday way possible.

Something I notice: At the beginning, Tyler is obviously very confused, but at 1:05, he's smiling and is just so happy to be there, and understands that Wednesday is just being herself. He even starts dancing along with her after, and yet doesn't really copy her, just doing his own thing while still being partners.
