Nice, thanks for the video. I went for the square terminal myself. I made it self-automated to accept 4$ tips by using an 'auto-clicker' app on my phone. Entirely self-automated, no need to mess with the phone in-between tap tips.

I'll be testing out one of those apps with the square reader too! Only let down with them is no choice of tip amount for customers, without intervention to adjust the programmed amount, but the simplicity they provide is still a great option! Glad you've got something that's working for you!

@@edgesamantha Yes, exactly. I went for simplicity over anything, i think people can turned off its anything more than a one-step process. The app 'auto clicker' worked for me, lots more options compared the othwr apps available. Was able to get it down to 0 phone interaction with this app. Thanks for your vids!

Interesting. I was exploring an automation app, but it is limited in it's click functionality. I will look into the auto clicker option too. Do you use Android or iOS?

Android seems to have a lot more of that functionality available to it's devices! iOS has proved very difficult for me to automate despite it's inbuilt app.

Thanks for the content Samantha! Wouldn't it be easier to solve this problem with the amount to be donated if you just show them your PayID or a QR code to a website so they can donate the right amount they'd like by themselves without needing an extra piece of equipment like these ones your mentioned?

You're welcome Otávio. I have QR codes too (they are printed on my case sign) and it's totally something that's accessible for every busker without the extra expense, but I like to cover all my bases and some people may be more inclined to make the transaction there and then, rather than going through it on their phone. Still it's worth having! I've had a number of donations through mine.

I recently contacted Square re customer “donations” and also the possibility of crediting payments to Bitcoin, not possible! I did feel that the answers were a little negative I thank you for your diligence and you saved me a lot of time going down the rabbit hole. You also saved me purchasing the $159 unit.

Unfortunately no. Life got in the way and then things got updated, so I'm having to start from scratch again. Have been working hard to piece it together these past couple of weeks and almost started filming today. Hopefully not too much longer! The next video is a dense one and I want to make sure I do it justice!

Thank you for checking in with me! Sometimes I need the push to get things done. I've worked a bit more the past two nights on editing. Hopefully have the next part of my series out in a couple of days time before I hit a busy period where I have 4 gigs in 4 days! What! 😆 From 0 to 100 gig wise! The sun just started making a bit more of an appearance again in my part of the world so I'm slowly crawling out of my state of hibernation!
