Hey Alex ! Paint the pellets white first. After drying use neon-orange naillaqueur ! This combination will work 100% ! You can follow the pellets from barrel to target... For poor light conditions you can use neon-green/yellow instead of orange ... Best regards and a happy new year !

One other thing on lethal vs non lethal post control. I had been watching videos like yours, Ted's Holdover and etc for several months. I saw a FX crown for sale thinking I'd deal with the pigeons (maybe 3-4 dozen of them) that had been on electric wires next door every day for years, making a mess. I bought it and about the time it arrived, before I had even shot it. The pigeons must have gotten wind of what was up and they all left and and have not returned. It's been years and its'only an occasional pigeon in the neighborhood. Since then I've gotten another FX crown and a FX impact. But no pigeons to show for them ! I'm waiting patiently.... just because one has a lethal means to deal with them does not mean you'll get to use it for that. So I shoot steel targets at the base of my shed and the occasional squirrel that raids my garden and I enjoy watching you guys lucky enough to have a target rich environment to use your PCPs.

I drilled a hole in a spare case for my camera and I run it off a USB 10000mAh power pack in my pocket via USB lead. It lasts for HOURS.

Thanks you guys. I've noticed before that paint or no paint the angle of light is crucial to that slow mo "pellet vision" footage. One of these days I will try some neon- colored spray paint, the guys tell me it works. The bright illuminator is a good idea but I prefer not to mount another gadget on my gun.

Thank you, buddy 🙂 The doves are a tasty meal indeed. Much better than feral pigeons and on a par with wood pigeons, in my opinion. Plenty of recipes online on how to cook them. Just bear in mind that as a buddy of mine said "game birds are an acquired taste" 😉

I definitely recommend you to be careful when painting your projectiles. I am about to release a video this weekend where I painted pellets again, and I too noticed some deterioration in their trajectory. You must paint them with spray paint and apply a very thin layer so that it doesn't affect their ballistic specs. Plus a thin layer of glaze on top of the paint - makes them more visible in flight and helps capture the light.

I just had a thought...what about trying some of that "glo-in-the-dark" paint, like the type they used to sell for posters, etc? . Paint it on the inside of the skirts and then shine a flashlight onto the back of the back before you fire them. Should be interesting....

I can't say, David, haven't pushed it to the limits, so to speak. But the thing with this gun is you can get a longer 450 and even 600 mm barrel if you want to go long range. Plus they're about to release new slug magazines, and we all now slugs are the go to projectile for long range shooting. Cheers, bud 👍

Green luminous paint works but you have to fire them pretty quickly after 'charging' them with a bright torch. The other way when shooting at night is to polish the rear of the pellet till it shines and then it can be 'illuminated' by a torch mounted as near in line with the scope as possible.

Luminous as in fluorescent, I suppose, judging by the "charging" you mentioned. That's a good idea, some other guys suggested the same. I'll definitely try a neon-coloured spray paint next. I don't shoot at night (yet) but thanks for that tip too.

I came close to purchasing a Edgun until I looked them up. Too many dollars for the amount of opportunity of targets I have in my area. However, very , very nice kit as you Europeans like to say. Great shooting on this pest control permission. That cat will remember you every time you show up.

How many shots per fill?

At 830 fps with the 34 grain JSB it gives me about 17-18 shots from a 250 bar fill until drops off the reg. The stock air tank is made with the purpose of being compact, hence its small volume a little over 100 cc. I will get the 350 cc carbon fiber bottle within days. Maybe it was the low light level, but the red didn't seem to help visibility on the tracking...unless it's just these old eyes. I see you're already planning on some kind of neon paint, I'd suggest yellow or light yellowish-green... The assortment of colors of paint they make these days is amazing, there should be SOME kind of bright color that will give you a brighter tracking-picture.... Great shooting, though, as always!... Thanks for sharing!

You're absolutely correct, David - that dark red nail polish made almost no difference at all. Especially in poor light, overcast for instance. I will definitely try some neon-colored spray paint. Another thing is the angle and intensity of sunlight/daylight - something that varies from shot to shot and I don't have control over ;)
