With regards to the timing of the wheel, I wanted to see what my opponents would discard, because it would give me a hint as to what was in their hands. With regards to the life gain, the enchantment sacs a creature to draw a card AND gain a life.

I feel like it shines more in more competitive as players are more likely to play multiple instant sorceries Instead of creatures :)
