For the Triad of Fates Commander, you can also use Athreos, Shroud-veiled in the 99 to put a "coin" counter your creature, then you would also put a "fate" counter on the same creature. That way when you target it to try drawing cards it wont completely exile it, it will come back with athreos triggered ability.

I've had a copy of Triad of Fates sitting around collecting dust because I didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw your brew for it and the concept was so funny to me that I just had to print it out and play it against my friends. No wins yet, but I'll keep you updated lol. Update: Well, I somehow managed to Triple kill for the win in a 5-player game. I killed the biggest threat (Henzee deck) with an underworld dreams into eldritch pact, then cleaned the rest up by wiping the board with oblivion stone, playing the Triad and putting the sword of war & peace on them, and then playing price of knowledge the next turn. It felt good. Thanks again for the fun brew!

I have my Fain and I love him. I have a Vampire/Blood/Treasures theme in it, and the Vampire provide the +1 counter to make Treasures, and the Blood tokens too. It's an artifact aristocrat deck with lots of ways to win, I really like it 🖤✨

It's a breath of fresh air to see original edh building again. Nowadays legendaries seem to be too easy to actually build around; where it used to take creativity to make a deck work as intended. I'm still using Thraximindar, but boy I would love an 'updated' version of him to be able to keep up easily. Maybe someday? Anyways, love the videos! New subscriber :)

I intentionally put a new restriction on my decks to do Method 2 and also have three possible commanders that fit the theme. Doing some digging after seeing Triad of Fates and I think Neyam Shai Murad and Shadrix Silverquill are good alts for this strategy. Might give it a whirl.

I love the exchange theme as a part of my aminatou deck (she also blinks permanents you own). Sounds fun to lean even more into it, sadly people on my table already get really mad when I do these type of plays though.

What about brewing Commanders that can be built in different ways? I have an Adeline deck and between human tribal, token theme and hatebear themes I'm having a really hard time balancing the three for optimal power. I got a weird mish mash going on at the moment...

I'm getting ready to build Ruby Daring Tracker from the latest eldraine set. Her with high impact artifacts and aura's like embercleave, while also using some things like mutagenic growth for that free cost to sneak commander damage in when the opponent isn't expecting it, etc. And two mana commanders are very strong. So I think it's gonna be fun. It won't be as strong as my Sythis, but I think it'll be just as fun to pilot, and Ruby has haste which is just icing on the cake.

Another card for the force draw Triad of Fates deck could be Iron Maiden: At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, Iron Maiden deals X damage to that player, where X is the number of cards in their hand minus 4.

I've been playing a Meneldor deck for like half a year maybe more. It took me a while to learn how to pilot it, but now is something my friends fear when they see it across the table. It's not a disgusting value engine Commander, but I would't say Meneldor is an underwhelming commander: It has an ability unique among other legendary creatures. I wouldn't be able to build this deck using another leggend as a Commander.

@@Helios810 I imagine Pauper would function far better in a singleton format than other 60 card formats. It would be far more difficult to abuse some unique restrictions that arise from the rules for that format (ie. common board wipes are a non-factor, which makes Hex-proof, Protection or Ward effectively broken).

I dont think the Force draw works that well with Triads it doesn't really fit the commander at all. Thats more of a Nekusar the mind razer kinda thing.

@edhdeckbuilding I'm actually building this now and your other video I absolutely love the concept sure the first glance thing to do with triads is a blink deck, but I love the board control and token gen, using the exile for 1/1 tokens for card draw which is just straight power gain. Then you hit them with the big stuff once you get settled in...a little slow but effective

Honestly the whole reason i followed your channel was BECAUSE of underwhelming commander. Honestly your move towards Canadian highlander style builds is somewhat interesting it's not what i subscribed for. Maybe stick to your roots once in awhile, just a suggestion.
