Had a wonderful visit to this castle a few years back. I remember all the soldiers were wearing kilts, it was a freezing day so I don’t know how they did it! Their knees were blue 🥶. The cleanliness is also something I remember vividly. Recommend it highly if you are there - it’s very ancient & a nice stroll down the Golden Mile is well worth it ✅

Was there in 1999 Grumpy Old Men at the entrance charging a rip off price for admission. did not go in. I imagine the price is an even bigger rip off today.
