Thank You! For making these tutorials, there are barely any out in the wild for media composer. You are a big help.

These are such a massive help. Also I like that you don't have ten minutes of waffle about the origins of AVID at the beginning. Thanks.

Awesome, I found this feature in Edius while editing news and fell in love with it. Perfect for cutting news footage fast.

Great tips, thank you! Always wondered what those functions did but never got around to researching them - will try them now, all clicks saved are priceless! ❤

Interesting that you used 'mark clip' to set the out-point (at 0:58). That's clever (....instead of moving your playhead to the last frame of the clip, which I would have done). Thanks!

you're awesome! thanks Hans for all of your video tutorials, they are helping me as someone who is switching from Davinci and premiere to Avid especially as someone who is working towards becoming an assistant editor and hopefully an editor one day. It would be very helpful to have a video about shortcuts in Avid! keep up the good work

Reverse Match frame also works from the timeline to a sequence loaded as source. Great if you've collected all shots from one bin into a long source sequence that you've loaded into source.

Good point, thanks for mentioning this, Kåre!

Great vid! I didn't know about Reverse Match Frame. You explained how it works from the Preview Window, but what does if you click it from the Timeline?
@leeschloss4840 Жыл бұрын
Regarding the 3rd tip (reverse match frame), something similar is "dupe detection", which is a very visual way of seeing what's been used.

Great video! Would there be a way to extend a clip (making it longer) and rippling the clips behind it without going to the ripple mode?
@HansTheEditor3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think pressing the 'u' key and using the trim mode is the fastest way.

How did you navigate through your timeline so fast? You were like going 5-10 frames to the left or right
@Cherb22123 жыл бұрын
In your "Command Palette" you can find at the "move" section the option to step forward or step backward 10 frames.
@HansTheEditor3 жыл бұрын
It's by default on the 1 and 2 keys (I think either 8 or 10 frames, depending on the project frame rate).

@@HansTheEditor Thanks guys. Do you guys also get the problem that you run out of keys to use though? I also use Premiere and you can just bind keys to ALT so I never run into that problem. But with AVID I really don't have space for my shortcuts anymore :/
@HansTheEditor3 жыл бұрын
You can bind most keys to the shift key in Media Composer. Have you tried that yet?
@aye13673 жыл бұрын
@@HansTheEditor Yeah I already do that. It's just that I like to keep everything on my left side of the keyboard. I'm thinking about using a macro like razer synapse to bind things to ALT or CTRL. Would that make problems?
@equipmentnazo68714 жыл бұрын
Hello Mr Hans, I'm a new subscriber. Which avid media composer do you use? The free version or the pro version?
@HansTheEditor3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm using the pay version, however almost everything you see in my tutorials works in Media Composer First as well.

Hi Channeveer, as I mentioned under your previous commend, unfortunately I'm not an expert on png files in Avid, so there is not much I could explain. Sorry!

Hi Ahmad, vielen Dank.
