Your procrastination reminded me of something Leonard Bernstein once said: "To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time." Also: The end of this video is the first time out of ten of your videos that I've watched since last night that I haven't felt compelled to watch the next one. In every other video, you're clear about how the next video follows the current one. In this video, you end on an uncertain note. I'm not saying this over-critically--far from it. It's a perfect lesson because of the contrast with how you kept me watching ten videos in a row!

I have loved this! I found you tonight and binged all of your challenge videos. I was struggling thinking of what to post daily, as my niche is scrapbooking and my videos are usually a process of putting a scrapbook page together. But in one of your videos you talked about pain points…what is your audience’s pain point. It is that they don’t have time for it. So now I want to draw out a whole scrapbook process for several days to show that my week is busy but I’m going to take a small chunk of time each day to scrapbook and show what I get done for that day. You have also inspired me to change locations. I never do that because mostly I’m showing my work surface. But I’ve been doing this “for real” for 5+ yrs and am ready for the challenge to take things up a notch. Thanks for these! I just found you but already like and trust you thanks to your challenge videos. 😊

As a YT beginner, this was SO HELPFUL. I think once you get rolling as a creator, you forget little things and it becomes second nature. You answered so many things here that I wondered about. Your screen recording of how to edit in iMovie using control B - yeah, I didn't know that. Also, using canva (which I use exclusively) and saving as MP4 - didn't know that either. So refreshing to have this advice. THANK YOU for bucking the final cut pro bros and being relatable to us folks that like simple.

You are a machine! Your "think like a viewer" is a good tip. That's a reason why, when I think I've finished, I will wait a few hours and watch it again. I did that on my last video and found that, while I thought the info was important at the time it didn't really add anything and slowed the video down. Like you, I like to keep the video moving by varying my locations. Nobody wants to see me sit in a chair a speak to them for 5 or 10 minutes. Some people are great and engaging at that, but I'm certainly not.

I found out about this challenge at your Day 5 video. I'm restarting it now. OMG, I had to wear a thumb brace because I was editing 8-10 hours a day for 35 straight days last month! (I did my own 31 day challenge to kickstart my channel.) I love this: "Throwing out perfectionisms! ...Throwing out over thinking (throwing out procrastination--I added this one)! "And, Getting it DONE!" Yayyy!🙌 You ask what I might want to see. Here's some ideas: -import different clips into the editing software -insert B-Rolls -insert audio before you show the video (exp. you car door shut before showing the car) -put this challenge in a playlist (I see that you already did this, yay!) -sample sheet of how you outline including your planned change of location Side Question: What's your doggie's name? Too Cute😍!

I just found you this morning, ive watched a couple videos. Im starting a channel, soon, and as a 49..nearly 50 yr old non tech, i like seeing the done better than petfect as it helps those starting out to not get caught in the perfection wheel that i see causes burnout for most. For me, that would takeaway from my whole purpose of doing yt. So, if you can keep doing easy quick, ways to do ALL the things those of us starting will need to do. Show the quick stuff in canva that can help, more quick edit stuff...maybe do like a quick on edit in imovie 101 for beginners who need to just get videos out without all the extras. Do really anything that a new yt and ig ( really any platform) needs to know how to do, but do it really basic and easy no frills. I think thats missing so far. Thx so much. And yes, keep going. Be authentic and frankly do whatever you find fun to teach that is needed....which is everything.😂

Loving your 7 day challenge! I like how you mentioned recording in shorter clips to make uploading faster in one of your previous videos. Possibly some more simple logistical recording and saving tricks/tips to make it easier to actually get videos posted such as - How to deal with super thick card holders on the backs of phones and the spring-loaded phone holders on the tripods, selfie sticks, etc. are too shallow to hold the phones and they pop off. It is something small but can prevent someone from recording. If the phone doesn't pop out, the holders also hit the side buttons and turn the phone off. - How to get in the habit of recording in horizontal format with a phone. 99% of all my recordings are vertical and unusable (except in shorts). - Media storage ideas when recording long format, ie letting the phone record in 20 minute blocks (the max length it will record) while working on a project and having your hands dirty. (So that was a random example) 😁 - How to record what you are doing when you are doing it and don't have extra hands/time to hold a phone, set things up, and move things. I am so happy you made this series! ❤

Just discovered your channel and loved this challenge! I’d value a video on what your content planning process looks like. Consistency is the key to so much it seems and having a solid process that supports that has so far eluded me! I feel like I’m winging it every week, picking a topic last minute then jumping right into making the video despite a variety of half researched topic ideas and titles (not yet keyword optimised) etc and a half baked content calendar sitting in a productivity app that in itself feels overly complicated. That said there’s an argument for avoiding over planning. No point having colour coordinated, all singing all dancing content plans and no time left to make the videos!!I’d love to know your end to end process. Where/how do you keep a list of topic ideas? How far in advance do you plan? Do you have your finished title before recording? When do you create your thumbnail? Are you ever working on more than one video at a time? How/when do you decide on what tags to use? I’d love a simple planning process I can replicate. Basically everything other than the filming and editing part. Thanks again for your videos. Super valuable! 👏👏
