Being an editor for the Bachleor would be such a cool job. Just think about it, you get to decide what millions of people will see and you get to craft an episode by peicing together and cutting clips from hours of footage from dates and interveiws.

Love this. I argue with people constantly about the editing when they are hating on contestants. The beauty queen drama has been my biggest argument. I kept saying Caelyn's assault story kept her in good edits and Hannah was thrown under the bus. I would bet that Caelyn talked just as much crap about Hannah . But Caelyn had a powerful story to tell so they're not going to put her in a negative light. Luckily for Hannah they spun an underdog comeback story for her. Her breakup was sad but beautifully epic . And now she's the Bachelorette. Very cool

I thought the Caelynn edits before she told her story were not cool. They included footage that set her up as a fake, manipulative person, and then included footage of her telling Colton about her sexual assault. It went too far and it leant into the lying manipulative fake victim who is lying to get a guy in trouble narrative. Super gross of them.

I also wonder how much the producers influence who goes on group dates, etc. and the choice of where they go. I'm sure they know who is afraid of heights / dogs / spiders / bumper cars etc. and suggests those dates accordingly. I also think since they know the drama in the house that they make sure that people that don't get along are on the same dates -- especially the 2 on 1. They can probably convince the Bachelor or Bachelorette quite easily -- it's a way to clear up misunderstandings or it's a way to move forward, making that tough decision.... and the 2 on 1's are always later in the season so that we have time to have drama and conflict build.

I love the bachelor/ette, and I don't think I'll stop watching them, but this video is an eye opener. I know it's great TV and addicting as hell to watch, but I feel that with all these fake outs and editing cuts to tell the story they want to tell, it's not authentic reality TV. And then I wonder if we should support them in their "fakeness." BTW, I really wanted Tayshia to be the bachelorette.

Is it just me or do I feel like all of this was obvious. They obviously want to make the bachelor/bachelorette look good. The one you pick right in the beginning usually makes it very far bc of the vibe they give you when watching. The editing, they do this with so many shows to dramatize things. Im not being rude, i just feel like everyone knows all of these things.
