Editing Car Photos In Lightroom | Before & After Walkthrough

A walkthrough of my full before and after editing done to one of my car photos in Lightroom. The goal was to expose for the sky and lights, and then use Lightroom to bring the car back in and mess around with some filters, colors and editing. There is some added grain from it being shot so under exposed. More editing time could have really dialed this in more, but figured it was still worth a share. You learn as you go when it comes to doing edits like this.

I’m no pro either, but a couple things: you actually (usually) want to bring highlights and whites down, not up. If you raise those two values up then you’re just negating what you did by exposing the original photo for the light. In effect it washes out that sunset sky. Then, they’re called “masks”, not “filters”. Might be confusing to someone using this video as a guide in the future. Beautiful photo and beautiful car though!

The CT4 BW was completely new to me. Not sure if you're buying new or used, but I will say if you buy new do not pay a penny over MSRP. I'm in some Facebook groups and sales reps from dealers are positing CT4V BW for $10k-$20k over sticker which is insane because I got my IMSA 6spd manual new for $4k UNDER sticker. I also was debating on checking out the M2, but after seeing the Blackwing in person and driving it, I ended up getting it before going to see any other car lol Good luck!
