Okay the fact that the ending is basically something that the editors "scrambled" together from scraps they could find is mindblowing. I would have expected that it was planned to be that way from the get go (tbh it was a bit corny, so it would have fit the tone). Absolute masterclass!

literally one of my favorite things about this movie is the editing. there were moments in the theater where the editing alone made me smile because i noticed the choices being made and was internally nerding out about it lol i honestly thought the ending madonna sequence was planned that way from the start because of how perfect it was for the movie as a whole. those emotional elements gave the whole journey they, ad we as the audience, had been on more purpose and connected it to the whole concept of wade wanting to matter on a larger scale and wanting to prove that he can care for someone other than himself

I genuinely noticed and appreciated the way they cut the music in this film. It takes a LOT of talent and experience to jump between cutting to the music and cutting the music to the action, you usually just make a hard choice to do one or the other because if you jump back & forth it becomes super jarring for your audience. They managed to do it in such a way that it genuinely serves to amplify each moment. As they mentioned every scene works on its own but how that all comes together can go sideway fairly quickly when you're jumping back & forth on action following music or music following the action.

Deadpool & Wolverine is not "epic" until that moment, and that moment it out of pace.

@ the cinematography, in every other fight scene we have smooth, highly composed and tightly choreographed camera moves that almost remind me of a more tasteful version of what Zach Snyder does. In the fight where they assault Cassandra’s compounds every time we cut from DP and W to the cameo characters, the camera turns into wide angle shaky cam generic coverage.

Dude there's a deadpool and wolverine fight after this, what's so wrong of "outshine the main casts" they literally hyped us up for the cameos, just so we can ignore them? What kind of logic is that

@ I’m literally just talking about how it was filmed. The 2nd unit is a camera team that operates without the main director. I could tell that fight scene was filmed by that team since the cinematography was comparatively bad compared to the rest of the film.

@lstcloud10 сағат бұрын
Honestly, it wasn't even the fact that the ending makes you get a little weepy-eyed for a movie, but for a Deadpool movie at that. That's not what you're expecting when you walk into the theater to watch this - you're expecting blood and gore, nonsensical violence and gratuitous use of four-letter words. It crosses your mind for a split second, "how dare you make me have all these feelings?" The cool thing is even though there's been a few moments where comic books and superheroes have these moments where you genuinely feel for these characters as people, there hasn't really been much of that in the Marvel movies, so this was a nice change of pace, especially when you were expecting it here LEAST of all.
@jmpnr9 күн бұрын
If there’s anything this movie demonstrates is the difference that’s made when the people reeeeeaaaaaallllly love and care about the characters and the story and put that into the work they’re doing. When they aren’t satisfied to paint by numbers and phone stuff in. You can see it, you can feel it, and even big budget superhero blockbusters from mega companies can have artistry, can be something special.

You can watch a video called “How ‘How star wars was saved in the edit’ was saved in the edit” which explains more.
