EDIUS 7: Getting to Grips with Speed Changes

It's all was possible in previous versions of the programm. Eagerly waiting implementation of the advanced time remapping techniques like optical flow or twixtor.

+Daddy BOSS We haven’t actually changed anything with respect to slow motion from EDIUS 7 to EDIUS 8. We’ve included optical flow in the ‘forthcoming EDIUS 8 features’ list. Twixtor is a plug-in that gives you frame-interpolated slo-mo, but we don’t support that.

+Grass Valley, a Belden Brand Yes, i saw this list, looks promising. I've started to work with edius since v4.61 on TV news. Edius was and still is best for quick edit. 3 min subject in a half hour - easy-peasy. Now i'm working on media production, edius 7.5 and goal is a quality product, so I learn and try new features in my editing workflow. Like to play with time, it's a good lesson for newbies, but when I know there is something better, i can't resist to own, to use it. I will happy when i don't need to use third party progs und plugs and can do it in one NLE. Because it's save my money, time and stability during editing (it's save my nerves). I wish you not to hurry with new features, but makes them stable, functional and usefull. P.S. Sorry for my english.

We've never tried an upper limit. Basically, at some point, you would only get 1 frame.

Hello, I'm currently using Edius 9, but I guess the time remap function is still the same. Is there any way to make the transition between speeds smoother? Like, gradually slow the speed down instead of slowing down instantly?

There isn't...if you're looking for something like a replay controller does. What a lot of folks do is slow down a portion at one speed, then the next portion at another speed, and so one.

@@grassvalleylive You guys need to up your game a bit. There are free versions of editing software that do this intuitively are very flexible and professional. The Time remap function is very cluncky, non intuitive and doesnt even offer up a linear speed increase or decrease nevermind keyframed splines. I love Edius and paid full price for it. But with this essential feature its lagging way behind the times... I wont even get into the lack of inter frame AI rendering for super slow motion of low frame rate footage...
