I love how us Canadians appreciate a city being close to us as its only a few hours away but in reality, you're driving really freaking far to get there. I imagine Americans minds exploding when they complain about the five hour drive between LA and Vegas and hearing about our five hour drive between Edmonton and Saskatoon being easy.

@@OmegaSyx cool. I love roadtrips. Another one was Lac du Bonnet (1 1/2 hr north of Wpg) to Kelowna in 18 hrs. Solo no back up driver. Had the jitters for 4 hours when I got there. Haha

If you go North on 84 street there is an open área where you can see the downtown lit up at night. Saskatchewan Drive between 108 street and 104 street has spectacular rivera valley views also.

I measured the Perimeter in Winnipeg. It's 99 kilometers around the city
@OmegaSyx
@OmegaSyx 4 жыл бұрын
that is impressive but the Anthony Henday doesn't actually enclose Edmonton. It is just another ring road. In the southeast, south, southwest and western parts there is a lot more city past the henday. Its really impressive but as a native Edmontonian, I actually have not explored much in the southwest.

Nice drive, good views, and you'll get the traffic circle right next time! at 1:58, 'Parliament' refers to the national government (and buildings) in Ottawa; in Alberta, at least, the provincial government is called the Legislative Assembly (and so, the Legislature Building).

It would be nice to see the 'drive-through' from the north end of Edmonton, coming in on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway. Then driving to Rogers Place.

Ring Roads are great for people who really just want to avoid the city (and continue on their way to Lloydminster?), but a freeway like Deerfoot right through the centre of the city must be more efficient... when it's not underwater - an accident or other disruption might shut the whole city down!

David Airth Fair enough - Edmonton’s road system is pretty prehistoric compared to Calgary’s I admit - but I was also kinda teasing about the long ways to finish Stony Trail ( I know, another can of worms that one...)

Welcome to Edmonton. I assume you took the Yellowhead between Saskatoon and Edmonton? The first time I took it I was surprised by how close Saskatoon actually is to Edmonton, if you leave in the morning you get there early afternoon.

Nice video! Which city would say is better, Edmonton or Calgary (or Vancouver for that matter)? I'm an American; I've heard "YEG" gets a bit of a bad rap in Canada, but in this and some other videos I really love all those pine forests in the middle of the city, and how pretty it seems to look on a sunny day.
