Edmonton's Marco Arop beat Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Emmanuel Kipkurui Korir and silver medallist Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich in the men's 800-metre race at the World Athletics Diamond League Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

Canadian Government should start investing more on Athletes. There's so much untapped potential in these young Athletes. Well done Marco, you are raising the Canadian Flag high.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Maybe the Canadian people should support young track athletes. We should demand that TSN and Sportsnet show more Canadian track. Canadians could also go to U-sport (university) track meets.

So proud of this young men. Saw him at Ebony and Ivory barbershop in Edmonton on Thursday and thought he was a basketball player till my barber told me he’s a 800m runner. Excited to look out for him and see him win. Congrats Marco.

Edmonton is flooded with Africans, give these young adults a fair opportunity and watch them flourish in return, for some reason there’s so many of them are being prescribed meds, its a sickening thing by the govt that most of us don’t know, but I pray for more success within the upcoming future for these folks

Their timing was just wrong, they under estimated everyone. Kenyans used to stick with Kenyans and they would run together at high speed. Thats how they set record's before.. Now they lag in the back and expect to outrun everyone last minute.

The rabbit is not part of the race, they are pacesetters. They are good enough to set the initial pace, but not good enough to finish the pace they started with the rest of the runners. It is difficult for a runner to go out with the lead and set the pace for themselves.
