@@sharpvidtube yes, but the technological advances in the shoes since 2019 (that are meant to improve performance by between 1 & 1.5% - 2 to 3 secs) and the Mondo track in Budapest mean that a 3:29 is more like a 3:32 on early 80's tracks and with spikes from that period. It was an incredible run by Josh and he proved himself the best in the world on the day it matters, but we should be careful in comparing times (especially in 1500m and above due to the exponential effect on return of energy given) from performances from different eras. Cram of 85 would have no problems running significantly faster than he did on today's scene.

Kerr's was the stronger run physically, but I think Wightman's was a little better, a little braver. There can be no complaints about either performance in this race. Ingebrigtsen is the fastest in the world at the moment so going for a fast time is a good strategy. Kerr could stay with the pace and won the sprint by going quite early and burning Ingebrigtsen's stamina. A damned good race.

Being the fastest in the world going into the race doesnt count for much, this is championship racing and twice now in the 1500 he has tasted defeat, i think because when running a true run race , he cracks just a bit, ... KH was fastest going into 800 and came away with silver and is focused on gold but has more respect for herself and does not make excuses, also very respectful of the other athletes, jacob could try that, he is a great runner, but comes across as arrogant and then when defeated trots out same old , im not feeling great, but okay i can still win the 5000 not at full throttle, that was my disappointment, would loved for Katir to have won, oh and did not here Katir making excuses

Fabulous run from Kerr. Was always on the cards though. Ingebrigtsen was being over-hyped before and during the race and his race tactics made him vulnerable. Kerr was always the man to take advantage and the fact he used classic middle distance tactics exactly like Wightman did last year shows that vulnerability again. I haven't seen any interviews but I hope Ingebrigtsen managed to be a bit more sporting than that begrudging handshake later on.
