@bensullivan55623 жыл бұрын
Fortunately I saw the race live, but living in Australia too, I had the same problem trying to rewatch it. They only archived selected sessions of athletics on 7plus instead of all of them which was stupid. Fortunately the 7Olympics fb page posted a video of the race which I think is still there if you search for it, but it was only the race and about 30 seconds after- no buildup or extended commentary afterwards
@AutPen38 Жыл бұрын
I don't think your local broadcaster "never bothered". They just have a limited licence and the IOC forbids them to keep repeating the footage with the localised commentary. It's really annoying, because here in the UK the BBC commentary is usually what makes the race so memorable. This clip just isn't the same without Steve Cram's commentary, but the BBC would have had to pay a fortune to keep broadcasting it in perpetuity.

Ironman consists of 3.86 kilometers of swimming, 180.25 kilometers of cycling, before it all ends with 42.2 kilometers of running (full marathon length). Norwegian Blummenfelt , 2021 Olympic triathlon champion , completed the Ironman competition in Cozumel, Mexico in 7 hours, 21 minutes and 12 seconds, setting a world record. Let this sink inn!!

An ironman can truly compete with a decathlete as being the greatest all around athlete in the world. But if they put OCR's (obstacle course racing) into the olympic card, then the spectrum broadens... I await for that fine day to happen..

Mr. Warholm wins the gold medal and sets a new record while beating his own record in the process.....if that doesn't count as bettering yourself in what you do I don't know what is.

The ultimate performance on the ultimate day from the ultimate warrior. Excellent commentary by the commentator.

... Commentator had it scripted in beforehand and followed it strictly to the end. But Warholm was far too fast for him so he was still babbling his euphoric homage to Warholm when the Viking went to bed that night.

How did I miss this? Collectively, this has to be the most amazing track and field performance of all time, and on the grandest stage. What makes it tragic is that almost no one got to see it happen. Was it the greatest race of all time? If not, please tell me one that was better.
Uma das melhores corridas da História dos Jogos Olímpicos.

I'm so happy for all of these guys - even the runners up had PBs or broke the current world record so they can come away with such a feeling of accomplishment. ☺ And the Norwegian with all his bluster in the beginning breaking down at the end shows how much it means to him. Very inspiring.

Wayde van Niekerk’s 400m WR from Rio, David Rudisha’s 800m WR from London, and this performance are the 3 greatest Olympic performances ever.

@@khumokwezimashapa2245 Bolt ran 9.63 at his second Olympics in London under way more pressure than he was under when he ran 9.69 in Beijing, so that was a greater performance than his 100m in Beijing.
