As someone who's been treated by many psychologists and having been declared psychologically healthy after 4 appointments with my last psychologist... I understand almost everything in this video, except some technical stuff 😅 I'm not very advanced at technical music terms, as I just started producing... Don't even have anything yet 😅 (except some lyrics, and a small amount of experimental beats) but that'll come! Once I invest enough time! Need a license for a DAW first! ❤ Love these videos! Even though most of it, already made a lot of sense to me 😊 I won't even be making EDM, unless you'd call DnB EDM as well! But this information, is useful for any producer! ❤

the fact that every minor key shares it's keys with a major key shows there's definitely a bit of writing talent that needs to go into creating that emotion too, but good tips

@H1R0-8 ай бұрын
One thing I would add onto this is the contrast between writing melodies and achieving consonance: while scales serve as a 'secret trick' to unlock consonance, a clear and teachable concept, there's no equivalent secret in creating incredible melodies. It comes from an explorative process and personal expression, rather than a singular, teachable formula. I've heard many times online from people who watch deadmau5 stream that he just moves midi notes up and down until they work haha. Music theory helps but it's mainly about patience and putting the time into it. Also we had a similar moment there when you played The Veldt. I love how music can envoke that kind of response.

which program is he using to do all these melodies?
There are 5 more modes in music, so that are those responsible for? The truth is that Major is not about happiness, Minor is not about sadness They are about something like brightness: Major is brighter than Minor (but you can play happy and sad melody in any of them). The proof: pitch any happy melody down from C-dur to a-moll. The shade's going to shift, but the mood remains The actual question about mood and feeling of the melody is not about scale, but about patterns, rhythm, direction of it, intervals we are using. What do we use: steps or leaps? Where and how much? What notes? What pitches? staccato or legato? I was expecting common patterns. Didn't recieve one

I....don't get sexiness from the Phrygian melody. I like it - especially when you were playing it with the piano to get a feel for the rhythm but I was thinking more mysterious, or perhaps suspenseful/foreboding like something is about to happen/starting to happen. I can't say I was feeling sexy/flirtatious though when I was listening to it. I just kept get more foreboding like it was the bass line to a battle theme or the part of the theme where the bass takes the lead before standing out when the rest of the song comes back in.
