Hi Ed Awesome video! Bread to be on the channel since the early days I think it would be fun if you do a compilation of the audiences stories with video as well I was flying the first drone I build last summer and had a failsafe happen even though video was perfectly fine (usually video chops out first). I saw seeing the drone dive down towards the sea frenticaly trying to arm mid air with no luck. It landed about a foot away from the sea. Then a wave rolled over it 😅 Also in the same clip a seagull flies right at the drone and narrowly avoids it in the last second.

Attach a light string to a dense object (baseball) and throw over the tree branch. Then attach a heavy rope to the light string and pull the rope up over the tree branch. From that point you can violently shake the rope to get the drone down. If that fails attach a chain to the rope, pull that up, and attach chain to a truck to pull it down.

The Mavic's grey color is actually too close to that of the pigeons! Once I was chased by an hawk and another time when I flew it too close to a row of trees when it was attacked by a storm of crows nested there (it's a territorial thing, I believe): both times I was able to make an escape but I was seriously considering to get those adhesive skins simulating the colors' scheme of dangerous or poisonous animals... BTW Ed, I believe Google removed those shots from Earth as I was not able to see you there: or are you perhaps on Maps? Anyway you actually look like you had been transported there from another time space continuum operating some mysterious sampling device, scouting for the colonization of the globe, exploring some invisible unknown dimension, or something... 8D

When I see hawks circling I'm always ready to throw it in sport mode and climb, decent or just run. I have a feeling the hawks are deciding if my quad would be a good meal. I also tried to retrieve a "budget" quad out of a tree using my M470 and a piece of Romex cable. To make a long story short, the M470 spent the winter of 2019 in the tree about 40' AGL with the "budget" quad. The M470 fell out in the spring. I weights over 5 lbs. + the battery so all the booms were bent, the landing gear bent, lower frame cracked, 2 escs shot and the 6s 5000 mah battery was damaged and dead.

Fpv looks so cool but every time I watch it I LITERALLY FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING SICK AND HAVE TO LOOK AWAY 🤣 Also the same type of person that when I'm in a car if I look down in the back seat at my phone for too long I also get sick. This also happens at the carnival when I'm on a ride that goes round and round. Oddly enough roller coasters don't make me sick. 🤣
@EdRickerVlogs4 жыл бұрын
Haha well I get that feeling as a passenger in a car as well. The big difference I think is that I'm the one operating the FPV drone and causing the movements...so it doesn't affect me. Kind of like, you can't tickle yourself, or you don't get carsick in the mountains when you're the one driving.

Haha usually only when we're following/chasing...probably happens to some extent every other flight session doing that. Probably best not to have two quads chasing a car simultaneously for that reason...much more likely to hit each other and then dent up the car. It's pretty rare to hit someone while flying two random flight patterns, but it still happens!!!

Hey! Thats funny & cool. There u iz. If you move down the road One can see your drone in flight too. Giant cathedral, rare to see one so big and new. Im not Catholic, I dont like crucifixes or statues or Mary, but its a beautiful bldg and surprisingly new. More surprised it has Jesus name on it too - thats rare. Some drone pix of it too... did u do that? Lol. My best friend is Brazilian and I went on street view to his parents house in Sao Paulo, the 4th most populous city in the world, and there was my best friend walking up his parents’ driveway! What are the odds? The pic was only there about 1 year though. I sent him a screen shot. It seemed for a moment he wasnt so far away. Lol. Thanks for sharing!
