Liverpool fan I think it's a power struggle, almost similar to Klopp vs Edwards where Klopp was growing with influence and ego as he was winning trophies. The difference is Arteta has an ego whilst he hasn't won anything. Arteta will then appoint a guy who is his mate. A yes man at that as well. You won't like what will happen down the line. Best way to settle this is to sack him.

I think it’s a fair assessment to say edu has missed the mark as often as he’s hit it. The ratio of flops to hits is pretty remarkable and we really haven’t made the killer signings needed to hit the next level. A lot of young talent that were second best compared to the actual young stars that got bought up bar Saliba and Gabriel. By that i mean players who were truly under the radar by comparison. We needed a class winger and we needed a striker. That was so evident, yet we piled on 3 more defenders. Baffling. Normally i’m not on lee’s side but i do appreciate the alternate look to arteta’s career given it hasn’t been all sunshine and roses. Curious who we’ll get in edu’s place. Can’t imagine there’s too many people out there who can pick a diamond out the gemstack. Arteta needs to get things on track or else he has to go in the summer. no more excuses.

Harsh take. We’re in shambles? Fair enough, first round of Edu transfers were terrible but the latest squad he’s built fell 2 points short of a title vs the best team in Europe with the best manager. That’s not progress from the mud we came from of not challenging for well over a decade? 2 damn points and it’s a shambles, please. Almost as if you want Arteta to fail for your agenda to be proven right. He’s not faultless and the lack of striker attention has been a real concern but to tear apart and rebuild again? What you packing in those cigarettes mate. This group is close, with or without Arteta but I reckon he deserves to see us through for at least another 2 years for getting the team this far.

Let's not forget one of his first acts was to cancel the deal for Bellingham and he later gave an injured Elneny a one year deal on improved wages (£55,000 pw up from £50,000) knowing full well he wouldn't kick a ball all year, just so he'd get paid whilst he recovered. Personally, I found that a huge slap in the face, because when you go to games they are constantly trying to find ways of extracting money from you and yet they are happy to give £2,600,000 to Elneny basically because he's their mate!

It's a guarantee that as long as he makes top 4 and the media team pacifies the vast majority then he'll be there for a good 10 to 15 years or more. The only way I see him leaving is if he really wants to be successful as a manager. Looking at the signings that were made, I think at least 60% were Arteta signings and Edu would chip in when Arteta wants a position strengthened but doesn't know who to buy. Sacking him would cost 45 million now so he'll be there for a hot minute. Arteta is really becoming a dictator for real🤣
