Very good all around! I personally love the bouts between two different martial arts. I train/practice in BJJ, classic(Queensbury) boxing, some Muay Thai, Judo when I can afford the classes, and have a yellow belt in karate. (Got it when I was 6, but due to family circumstances never followed further with it) I plan on continuing my boxing training for another year or so, and then switching to karate to hopefully one day reach at least a brown belt, maybe black if I'm fortunate. I have a lot on my plate, and am currently pushing to get into open MMA fights. Idk if it's the same everywhere, but It can be a challenge to get one's foot in the door with sanctioned bouts. Great vid!

@JacksonDunnoKnows2 ай бұрын
@@santiagobohorquez4758 I would have to agree. Muay Thai is stronger, the little judo I do know can help me with take downs in BJJ, and the boxing is just nice. Like I mentioned, I had family circumstances ( in adulthood I learned mom was a huge pot head and chose to keep smoking up the little money she had instead of letting me continue classes) So it's sorta a want to fulfill something I started.

The doctor who was in charge of the entire British Olympic Team that year, tested each member of each sport and ascertained that the fittest team was the judo team. Because that's what the video is set up to show :D Judo is a solid martial art, but it isn't a complete one just like most others. To some extent, most try to reduce the risk of injury by restricting some techniques and concentrate on perfecting others, while any martial art that tries to learn everything will take longer to perfect anying. A boxer won't beat a judoka in a grapple, but neither is the judoka going to out-box the boxer. Its all situational. That said, many fights do involve grappling in some way.

I appreciate judo even more since I started MMA. Here are some examples: 1. In MMA, submissions are not always necessary. Sometimes you can simply pin and strike. For example, Kesa Gatame almost equals TKO. 2. Compared to wrestling, judo-style takedowns are less vulnerable to headlocks. 3. When wrestling against the cage, it's basically a judo fight. There may be more. These are just a few examples. But I sill think that there is no single best grappling style. The only superior approach is to have knowledge of all major styles: wrestling+judo+bjj

The BJJ guy looked absolutely pathetic. Trying to go down to the ground at every opportunity. Would get murdered if used in a real life situation.

Pitting a white belt in BJJ and a rookie sambo fighter against a black belt in judo is not a good way to compare martial arts. Judo is a great martial art for working in the standup and moving a person into the parterre. A person who can work in the parterre and stand-up, as well as possess striking techniques like combat sambo, will be knowingly stronger than a pure judoka. It definitely makes sense to study several disciplines simultaneously to achieve versatility in martial arts. A person who masters basic boxing technique, advanced BJJ or judo technique, and has the physical conditioning of a wrestler will be much more functional than a pure style fighter.

Although it became obvious with the judo vs BJJ because of the stance, and the judo vs muay tai because of the clothing, not everyone knows that so you should have clearly put who was who.

I do Goju Ryu Karate which has Judo throws. I can say Judo is one of the best martial arts out there, It's my favourite grappling art. Respect! 💪🤝
