It's a well built model, but some details, for instance the camouflage, are in my view not entirely correct. In the book "Messerschmitt Bf 109 -Einsatzmaschinen-" by Harald Helmut Vogt, there is a color photo of a Bf 109 E cockpit framing that survived till today. It has a greenish grey color similar to RLM-grey 02 (but no exact match). The color is due to an old color handbook RLM 63. The undersides were finished in RLM 65 pale blue. There are numerous b/w-photos that prove the existence of light undersides. All Bf 109 E sent to spain received this livery...

Thank you for taking the time and commenting on this subject. I am not an expert on WWII history. When I was building this kit, I ran into several color callouts for the camo, but decided to go with this one purely for its appearance.

Some early 109's were painted L40/52 Silber, a pre-war Lufthansa colour. And this is a good match for L40/52.

Thank you! On this build it was MRP (mrpaint.sk/), but these days I mostly use Tamiya (for airbrushing) and Vallejo (for brush painting)

Thank you! As for the decals, I learnt after this build that Eduard is aware of this mistake and if you contact them they would send you the correct decals. Free of charge, I believe. Hopefully, people find this comment before they get to building this kit.
