I’ve been following for about year now, and despite all your modesty, this is the coolest thing I’ve seen on KZbin in at least that long. I watch of few of the other puzzle channels you mention, but this is in a league of its own. It was always fun to see the friends and family working on it too. Only in my dreams would I have an uncle willing to build a 25’ table, buy an enormous puzzle, do most of the sorting, then let me come puzzle at my own leisure! Can’t wait for the missing piece update.

The highlight of this video is - without doubt - the moment of family gathering putting in the last pieces. I loved the cheering after you put in the last piece, John! If you want to change some last sky pieces. At 21:13 of the video there are 3 connected pieces that are left of the blue balloon floating left of the Eiffel tower. These 3 pieces (5th row from the border) are a little bit lighter than the rest. I believe they should be changed with the three pieces to the right of the Chrysler building (21:20 of the video) - because those are a little bit darker and also at the 5th row from the border. They even seem to have the correct shape. In the areas I described I can see one or two other sky pieces that seem a little off in color. Other than that I claim that there are no wrong pieces any more in the whole puzzle and you can let it rest in piece till you (hopefully) receive your replacement piece! Thank you for letting us follow your journey!

Well done John and team. I have this puzzle acquiring it from Donna Louise and have completed 4 bags so far(don’t have the space to mix) I have watched all your videos with interest knowing how many false fits I had. I look forward to the day I will be able to put my puzzle all together. I have the image on the wall where I work on the puzzle and it has been a wonderful talking point as people tell of their experiences visiting the many places around the world. I am from Tasmania 🇦🇺 I really hope you get your missing piece. Again a great effort.

After hearing from others in the comments saying that they received their missing pieces from Educa, I feel better about getting mine, thanks again, john

What an incredible accomplishment. Thanks for sharing! I wonder how many people have actually finished this puzzle (even without mixing the bags). The completed puzzle is such a beautiful piece of art. Any plans to do something like glue to the puzzle together and put up on wall? I feel like with some work, you could put the puzzle on the wall of this room. Or maybe a local school would love to have it one of their walls. I hope that this isn't the end, and you do another large puzzle!!!

Hi John, It's been so incredible watching you and your family put this puzzle together, so much so, that you've inspired me to have a go myself. Sadly I don't have as much space to play with and I was wondering what are the dimensions of the puzzle box? It looks really big so I wanted to plan my nifty storage solution ahead of time haha! Thank you for sharing your puzzling experience, and I hope that missing piece arrives soon :)
@puzzlemethis.11 күн бұрын
@Bizzee_Bee Hi and thanks so much. The outside puzzle box size is 31.5 x15 inches and 10.5 inches high. The inside measurements are 30 inches x 14.5 inches and 10 inches high. Each assembled bag of the puzzle is 42 inches by 61 inches (7 bags total). the whole puzzle is 24 feet 8 inches by 5 feet 1 inch. Hope that helps, if you need any other dimensions let me know. Educa says the missing piece was sent on October 28th. That was 2 months ago, I'm not sure how long a regular letter takes to get from Spain to the U.S., but I hope it gets here soon. Keep me updated on your puzzle progress, john

Congratulations from Brighton England. The algorithm suggested this video to me a few days ago, and have watched the whole series in a few days while recovering from a bug. This has been very inspirational to watch, really want to do something similar one day, something so satisfying about a large project skowly coming together. Fingers crossed there is a little piece of cardboard rolling down the road your way right now. Interesting to know if they stock spares for such large puzzles. Wondered if on reflection , you had a favourite section or building, and what are the top 2-3 things you would have done differently. Cheers.
@puzzlemethis.3 ай бұрын
@campbaron Hi and thanks for watching, Yes, supposedly if the puzzle is still in production they will send replacement pieces, the form I filled out had room for 16 pieces. My favorite part was the buildings, they seemed to be the easiest for me. The Eiffel tower was a different color that really stood out, as was the Elizabeth (Big Ben) Tower. I would have maybe sorted originally in more detail and then maybe at the end sorted by shape a month or two before we did. Greetings from Pennsylvania, john

I realise I’m 2 months late on this, but CONGRATULATIONS! 🥳 Sorry about your missing piece - I hope it gets to you soon 🤞 You’re right, I’ve never used Educa’s missing piece service, but that’s because, thankfully, I haven’t had one yet, although I did discover my first damaged piece when I mixed sections 6 and 7 of Wildlife. I’m not sure yet whether I’ll try and get a replacement for it, but definitely I’ll wait until I’ve finished the puzzle first before I make the decision on that. I have two questions - firstly, what do you plan to do with the puzzle now? And secondly, will you do another biggie at some point, do you think?
@puzzlemethis.Ай бұрын
@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi Vicky, thanks, I just left a comment on your video from yesterday and didn't know you posted a comment on mine yesterday. I'll leave the puzzle on the table for a while and then I'll take it apart in sections and put them back in the box or a big tub, that way I can put it together quick or take it all apart again. Hopefully it will stay together so I don't have to tape the back. We will take a break for a while and see if we want to do another one. I did buy the 24,000 piece life puzzle, the same place in Spain that I bought this puzzle had a black Friday sale and had it for $225, shipping and everything so I bought it. Don't know if we'll do it or not, I can resell it if we don't, or there might be some new big puzzles by the time we decide to do another one. Good to hear from you again and I really enjoy your videos and I'm looking forward to more of your wildlife videos, john

Dear John - I only got aware of this Playlist trough Vicky's Video two days ago and had to hop over and have a look. Even though it's already two month this Video is out I want to congratulate you for this big accomplishment. I started with Video 1 and your explanation for mixing the bags... and then jumped to the last one to see how long it took... then I calculated how long it would have taken myself if I would do it like that, considering my time to puzzle is max 10hours a week... and it's just me an myself puzzling ... ehm... I came up with 7 Years --- then adding up one more year for shuffeling the puzzle on 28 stacked section boards as I live in a small apartment... 8 years for just one single puzzle ... 🙈🙈🙈🙈 oh well... I think I am gona stick to single bag puzzling beeing aware that the biggest I will have done is a 6000 piece puzzle but could then at least see the full thing completed within 2 years. But who knows... maybe when I am retired I might look around what big puzzles there are and do a mixed one such as you did. Would certainly be a challenge. But know, that you gave me the inspiration to go bigger and I even got this one puzzle to build thanks to your channel. It's on it's way from Spain to Switzerland. Thanks for that. Enjoy your family time. I look forward to see if you come up with a next project. Best Claudia

I knew you could do it! Too bad about the one piece. It's practically a miracle that is all that is missing with all the traffic that has come in and out over all these months. Not to mention the cats! We had 4 kittens in our house once and they completely destroyed a puzzle I had worked on for months. Grrrr! Hi John! FIrst of all, huge congratulations to you and your family and friends. It was such an epic endeavour and journey. And thank you for your monthly updates, it was a pleasure to watch your progress. At 21:20 I can see at least 4 or 5 sky pieces near the top of the building (maybe line 4 and 5) on the side of the Redeemer statue that have different/darker color than their environment. At 21:26 On the right side of the bird of prey, in the 8th line (I guess), there is an H shape piece that also seems odd on its upper edge (I darker kind of white than its upper neighbour). Might worth a check. Wish you all the best :)

Way to go team! It's been fun watching your progress. I will however disagree with you that one person would be able to do that in the same amount of time as the accumulated time of the community that helped you out. I think one person would take a lot longer. You need to add the factor that when something is a community project, the work gets done quicker. What you did John is the dream for me... maybe not a 42000 puzzle... but puzzling with others. That is the dream.
@puzzlemethis.3 ай бұрын
@RubyNeumann H again and thanks. My thinking was (and could be wrong) that one person working alone wouldn't have the distractions of talking or other people in the room. That might make one person faster. So one person could maybe do it in less hours but it would take one person longer, calendar wise, to complete the puzzle. And you are right, doing this with other people (here and on youtube) made this project a lot more fun and enjoyable, john

I totally agree with Jacqueline 's comments. You really made us feel part of your journey. I honestly would love to watch you again in future videos, if you wish to share anything. I do wish to comment that I have a 3K Ravensburger missing piece, returned to the store where we opened another to search for the missing piece (to not redo the puzzle so soon), and found the color was a little off. It was a little disappointing. It reminds me of the image separation from your puzzle which is quite notorious. Awesome job! I have this puzzle but when I do it I will do bag by bag I'm slow enough as it is. I'm doing the Life puzzle from them and it takes me over a 100 hours per bag. I have 1 bag left on that and so far I am also just missing 1 piece. I did a count of the last bag and it looks like it should be complete so hopefully I can get a replacement piece from Educa. If not I can always make a piece myself which I have done many times for other puzzles. I was a little bummed to see that there were such noticeable color changes between bags for Around the World. I have quite a few of the large piece counts - Life (24000 piece), Wildlife (33600 piece), Around the World (42000), Disney (40320), Kodaks big one (53000) along with many 13200 piece ones from Clementoni and a few 6000 piece ones and many 3000, 5000 and 9000 piece ones from Ravensburger. Hopefully I make some good progress on those in the next decade lol. I hope you get your piece and glad you had such a good time with family on it!

@ericmcvicker5884 Hi and thanks, There was only a noticeable color difference between bags 3 and 4 (counting from left to right), that is where the piece cut gets turned 180 degrees. The life puzzle is so bright and colorful, I think it would be fun to do. I wouldn't want to try the 33,600 wildlife puzzle, too much green.
