I hope Ravensburger realizes what a great investment they've made in you, not just as a competitor but for the incredible way you represent these events. I've watched all of them before but this year's was truly such a higher caliber, the combo of interview/stream audio, your incredible camera operator, the focus not only on the "best" but so many little moments that happen somewhere like this, truly incredible!!!
@jmason1770Ай бұрын
I'm sure they do! They have sponsored her at Worlds and Nationals competitions. She created 3 Ravensburger puzzles for them. Karen and others were also invited to Ravensburger's headquarters in Germany.

Seeing everyone cheer for Gosia legit made me tear up, I feel like speed puzzling is one of the few competitions where people are so wonderful and supportive of everyone no matter the skill level, and hey she may have been last, but she brought home a record breaking round where EVERYONE finished, and that's absolutely an achievement to be proud of! Besides, she still absolutely earned her place there and imo as a total puzzle amateur finishing a whole puzzle in just under an hour and a half is still CRAZY impressive, I hope we see her come back next year :D

As an artist, it's interesting to see the part where color theory was used in this competition. When a darker shade of color is put against a white background, the contrast makes the color appear darker. When the same color is put against a black background, you'll be able to see the slight offset of hue against the dark.

35:25 I'd been encouraging these two that they could finish in an hour. (They didn't know each other before competing. She was from Bermuda and living in Denmark; I don't know where he was from but maybe France or Quebec; they were representing Barbados, where her dad was from.) Then they paused with the last piece to ceremonially put it in together and that took them into the last ten seconds, when they suddenly realized they had a missing piece. Had they declared it it would therefore have taken them over an hour. They managed to find it in the nick of time and their time was 59-59. (I don't even know whether that was their official time, but it was definitely their real time as I was watching the clock for them.)

Im so grateful for Karen's videos. I remember growing up, both sets of my grandparents enjoyed puzzling and i was kind of into it but not enough to really seek it out... until I found Karen and saw the first nationals videos. Over the past couple of years, my mom and I go thrifting for new puzzles and bought a dedicated table for puzzling. We get through a 1000 piece puzzle every week or three and its been such a wonderful activity to share with not only my mom, but my grandparents (3 of 4 are gone, i just got to puzzle for the first time with my Grandma this week! But i feel like im careying on the legacy in a way). And with the competition videos, i tell my mom all about the exciting moments and incredible people involved, and she shares it with her friends 😂 its amazing how much one person can affect thousands
