1. D . Since the assignment is security classified , I tried to remove remaining options. 2. D. A well defined success criteria with customer is definitely avoid all the gaps in expectations 3. A. Testing team will start the validation after the completion of the development of all requirements. 4. B & D. The functional failure is seen on post delivery. So there is a gaps in definition of ready. This has to be explained. Also the fix was come out from an individual, he has to explain the risks and lessons learned post quick fix integration 5. predictive life cycle --> A project where scope, cost and time will be determined in the early phases of life cycle. Interactive life cycle --> A project where the scope is determined early in the project life but time and cost will be constantly modified. Teams will do series of repeated cycles until it reaches perfection. Incremental life cycle --> Scope is constantly changing for new deliverable, butt rollout of the deliverable would be done in a known phased approach. Hybrid life cycle --> A project which needs to be launched in the market as quickly as possible 6. D. Ensuring the format validity is the prior step before the other steps. 7. A & E. To keep the engineers familiar with their current job. 8. Analogous Estimating --> Some of the activities on the project have been done previously in some other similar project Parametric Estimating --> For the some of the activities , a range of estimates is preferred due to insufficient historical data Three point estimating --> Cable installation activity is directly proportional to the number of labor hours put in by the staff Bottom up Estimating--> LaKedra is planning to use WPs to estimate and make her way up on the WBS 9. D. This must be aligned with the project stake holders as the impact on timeline and budget is inevitable after 60% of project completion. 10.A & C. Options are derived directly from the figures given. 11. Avoid - I don't have time to deal with this right now. You both can take a decision on your own Smooth - I heard that you both did a great job in resolve the phase 1 issues. Good job and keep it. Compromise - Do half development as per Ron and other half as per Susy. Problem solve - Let's talk about the issue and reason for favoring one approach over the other. Once we discuss the viewpoints, lets adopt a solution which is good for the project 12. Activities - A direct reflection on what to accomplish 13. B & D . Kanban board will help to maintain the frequent tracking. Common milestones and overall dependency NW will ensure the alignment consistency. 14 A . CR will record the data for further steps and references. 15. B . Backlog refinement may help to explore options to avoid patented component dependency.

1. B - have retrospectives, so that feedback can be incorporated. 2. A - continuous retrospectives on the increments eliminates the surprises at the end of the projects, making sure customers be happy with end product. 3. D - once you finish once phase of all developments, you are into finishing testing the individuals. 4. B & C - deninition of ready & done will help. 5. Predictive - where scope, time, cost are dtermined in early phases Iterative - Project where scope will be determined, cost & time will be modified; because its repetetive, team doing series of repeated cycles until perfection Incremental - Project needs to be launched in market as soon as possible Hybrid - Scope is changing, other deliverbales are done in known phased approach 6. D - since its legal issue, any new modulation should be checked with compliance team. 7. A & B - as team may be lacking motivation and need creative spike; there seems there is enough tenchincal expertise in the team 8. Analogous - Cable installation is directly proportional to number of labor hours put in Parametric - Some activities on project have been done previously in some other similar project Three point - For some activities, a range of estimates is preferred due to insufficient historical data Bottom Up - Planning to use work packages estimate and her way up on WBS 9. D - as there is change reflecting in the schedule and budget, change request needs to be submitted informing to stakeholders 10. A & C - as 20k$ should be spent by time of 20% work done, actual spent is 15k$, so its under budget and schedule planned should be 30% work to be done but only 20% done, so 10% lack in schedule 11. Avoid - I dont have time to deal, you both take a decision on your own Smooth - I heard that you both did a great job in resolve phase 1 issue, good job and keep it up Compromise - Do half as per Ron and other hald per Susy Problem Solve - Lets sit and talk and reson for favor in approach over other. Once we discuss, lets adopt a solution good for project. 12. A - WBS has all activities listed into it. 13. B & D - common kanban boards can be used to see progress of both teams and also common milestones with overall dependency network which syncs the both teams deliverables 14. B - Since its disregard to legal requirements that changes are proposed, verify with organisation legal team for guidance. 15. B - since its legal issue, its better to perform backlog refinement working with compliance team

Question; 1 I choosed A because common E- Kanban is the best option to let everyone know what is going in project. I have also confused about option C but I little know about scrum of scrum. 2 This is obvious that continous and increment feedback is the strength of agile mindset. Hence conflits can be avoided further we one get incremental feedback rather than a unexpected outcome later. 3 I did not know about this answer. 4 I eliminated A & E since these were not the solutions. Among C,D, B, think C& D are the correct close one. 5 Its about PLCs. That’s quite explanatory. 6 When there is a legal mandate & a blocker to implement it, Once should first reach out to legal team to determine the solutions and way round. 7 Motivation & Meetings about the problem may help to increase the productivity. I am partially correct. 8 Its about estimation methods. That’s quite explanatory. 9 D comes out as an extreme next option to choose & this will help PM to move on with the right mindset. 10 While following SV & CV formula, it helped to choose the answer. 11 I learnt it in Eduhubspot 1st class. All self explainatory. 12 I did not know about this answer. 13 I did not know about this answer. 14 If there is an legal impact, First one should discuss with the legal team before an direct actions. A,B,C are direct actions which cant help. 15 B solving the problem.

Q1: C - scrum of scrums because it is a scaled agile technique that offers a way to connect multiple teams on more frequent basis to work together to deliver solutions. Q2: A - obtaining feedback on incremental more frequent basis to ensures that the consumer’s success criteria are being met. Q3: A - this dependency demonstrates that one activity must be fully complete before any following activity may begin. The development of all the requirements must be fully completed before testing individual modules may begin. Q4: C and D - The work is already completed in this scenario. Examination and identification of gaps in Definition of Done could help the team figure out the solution to the problem and prevent this from happening in future because it helps to answer the q’s of what’d did we miss, what went wrong. Additionally, understanding what the Team Member’s rational was for solving the problem the way he/she did, helps identify gaps in his/her thinking/approach. That combined with identification and analysis of lessons learned (why this things happened, what could be done to prevent it) contributes to prevention of the same issues in future. Q5: A-Iterative Life cycle; B-Predictive life cycle; C-Hybrid life cycle; D-Incremental Life cycle Q6: D - since this is a new regulation checking in with Compliance Team and making sure the application of fold-out flap meets the legal requirements (is in compliance with) of the Regulation should be the first step. Once confirmed the team can move on to the next steps, which would be updating sprint backlog and making sure the lanes are ready for printing the following week. Q7: C and D - adding T-shaped profiles may help because they have specified design engineering knowledge and skills but also have more general knowledge in the areas that cover execution of the new duties assigned to the team. Getting help to mentor the team on how they can combine their new duties with their design work would equipped them with skills necessary to execute their work effectively and efficiently. Q8: A - Bottom up; B - Three point estimating; C - Analogous estimating; D - Parametric estimating Q9: D - before any changes are made, the project manager needs to figure out what the updated delivery date and budget would be based on the circumstances . Once that done he/she should communicate with project stakeholders and submit the change request for approval before any “action” of changing is done. Q10: A and E
EV = 100,000*0.2= $20,000 SV= EV-PV -- PV cannot be determined based on the scenario CV = EV-AC = 20,000-15,000 =5,000 >1 Below Budget Q11: A - Compromise; B - Avoid; C - Smooth; D: problem solve Q12: A - the goal of WBS is to have work to be broken into smaller and more manageable components, which are activates. The activities are big enough to allow tracking of completion of each of them by team members. Q13: B and D- common Kanban Board would help to visualize the work of both teams, limit the WIP so there is no confusion, and increase efficiency. Creating common milestones and dependency network will allow both teams to break the silos and work more as a cohesive unit with clear delivery/milestones/work dependency and sequence expectations. Q14: B - implementing those alternations may cause critical compliance issues. Verifying with legal team for guidance hour be the first step before any actions are taken Q15: B - working with legal department and team on refining the backlog would ensure legal compliance and reduce the risk of potential intellectual property legal issues

This is my first day of learning with nearly no agile knowledge or experience other than it’s use, so will be answering these at the moment without the PMI hat. 1. Unsure between A and C, electronic kanban board (basically common visualisations of activities) could work. Scrum of scrum layer i assume is a scrum between 2 different scrums(and by extension, 2 different teams with varying priorities), could work as well, as you might be able to align common goals/priorities together with the supplier. 2. A. As i feel with proper feedback on each release, the requirements could have been captured better. C was also in contention for me as the the scope/vision could have been laid out well initially itself. 3. A. Activity X has to finish for Y to begin. Possibly on critical path too. 4. C and D. Identifying scope gaps and trying to learn from the team member’s approach to solving the problem seem appropriate. 5. Predictive- 2, Iterative- 1, Incremental- 4, Hybrid- 3. Was confused if hybrid fit 3 or 4, but the key word was product launch needed to be asap 6. Unsure between C and D but probably leaning towards D. C could work as the team decides to solve the problem, hence add the scope into the backlog, not necessarily the unapproved solution. D Could work as the compliance team can approve/ disapprove of potential solution. 7. Unaware of most terms on there at the moment. Answering without the PMI hat, D & E are out, so I’ll go with A and B. 8. Unaware of these techniques at the moment. Answering without the PMI hat, i think Bottom up-1, parametric-2, analogous -3, 3 point -4 9. Unsure between B and D. A sounds like paperwork, that’s out for me. C is out, as it’s not the resource’s fault. B could work but is it fair to put all responsibility on the other members without knowing if they have the skillset? D as a statement doesn’t make sense to me, because if the stakeholders include a client, why do they have to live with a revised schedule and budget? Also don’t you submit a change request to a customer for out of scope or additional work? Why would you submit that to a potential client for someone from your team being removed by probably your executive. 10. Simple math. A and C, behind schedule, under budget 11. Avoid- 2, Smooth- 3, Compromise- 1, Problem solve- 4 12. Unsure between A or D 13. B and D sound right to track and visualise deliverables 14. B. Go to legal first 15. B sounds right. Work with the legal team to fix the backlog. C sounds a bit extreme, as that would stop work.

I have no idea how you have the time to reply to every comment, but it's exactly the reason I chose your site. Anyone who works this hard definitely has my respect. Your questions are exactly like the course material and the video is REALLY helping me. This is perfect. I have a long way to go, but my application should be approved any day now (mine got audited, naturally) and then it's go time. Oh, and I love your accent! Don't apologize for talking so much, it's what we're here for!

Question 1 : Identify the problem in question. Problem is that your day is filled with meetings but you still want to know what’s going on. This is a real problem and real problem can be resolved by doing a scrum of scrum meeting. Coming up with a Kanban board is also good but still you are not meeting or its not really the best. Coming up with fishbowl or common retrospective might not be the best strategy. Correct Ans C Question 5 : A-2, B-1, C-4, D-3: Below are the keywords. A- 2 Predictive - cost, time, scope are determined at early phase. B-1 Iterative - series of repetitive cycles until it reaches perfection. C-4 can be used if product need to be launched quickly. D-3 scope is changing but roll out can be phased. Question 7 : There is a problem and you do spike to find out that problem. So A is a good choice. Option B is not a good choice because the question is on productivity and motivation. Option C is a good choice because Agile Team should be cross functional and generalized experts/ team member can help when we have requirements facing with different competencies. Option D is not a good choice because the problem is not about creativity. Option E is not even an option. We don’t do that. Time is fixed in Agile. Correct Ans : A & C Question 8 : A-3, B-2, C-4, D-1: Below are the keywords. Bottom Up - use work packages to estimate all the way up on the WBS. Parametric - Cable installation is directly proportional to number of labor hours. Analogous.- From previous similar project. Three point - range of estimates (triangular, standard, beta, variance) Question 12 : Activities come after WBS, so A is out. Bar chart and WBS are two different things all together, so B is out as well. List of risks are part of risk register, so C is out. Only option left is D which is team buy in. You want team to agree on whatever deliverables are assigned to them, so D is the best choice. Correct Ans D I read all your comments, overall great job and thank you for participating. This shows me exactly how you think and this is important for your PMP exam. Varun

Great video and a lot of new concepts to learn. Most of the questions that i answered followed elimination technique by trying to get keywords from the questions asked and filtering out the most appropriate answer. My answers to all questions along with my understanding is given below. Q1: Option C - Agile is the most popular project management approach with Scrum being the most popular methodologies followed. This seemed to be the most appropriate one comparing the remaining options. Q2: Option D - The question referred to Agile project management. My mindset to choose option D was because this one spoke about scrum concept like stories and it completion. Q3: Option B - This looked quiet straight as i went by the detailed explanation of the question to select answer. Never thought it should be flipped. Q4: Option B and D - Looked to me like there was a gap in the definition of done so selected B to ensure the gap in definition of done gets covered in the definition of ready. Q5: Predictive Life Cycle: A project where scope, cost and time will be determined in the early phases of life cycle. Iterative Life Cycle: A project where scope will be determine early in the project life cycle, but time and cost will be constantly modified. Team will do series of repeated cycles until it reaches perfection. Incremental Life Cycle: Scope is constantly changing for the new deliverable, but rollout of the deliverable would be done in a known phased approach. Hybrid Life Cycle: A project which needs to be launched in the market as quickly as possible. Q6: Option D - As regulations are involved, it is best to consult with Compliance to check how long the product is valid. Q7: Option A and E - As a new additional task was added into the iteration, i assumed extending the iteration made more sense. Q8: Honestly dont know much about estimation technique and did a wild guess on matching the answers. Analogous Estimating: For some of the activities, a range of estimates is preferred due to insufficient historical data Parametric Estimating: Some of the activities on the project have been done previously in some other similar project Three-Point Estimating: Cable installation activity is directly proportional to the number of labor hours put in be the staff Bottom Up Estimating: LaKedra is planning to use work packages to estimate and make her way up on the WBS Q9: Option D - It is best to keep the stakeholders informed to keep them informed. Q10: Option A and C - Team progress is 10% behind where it should be, but should have involved $20,000 (20% of budget), of which $5,000 less has actually been spent. Q11: Avoid: I don't have time to deal with this right now. You both can take a decision on your own Smooth: I heard that you both did a great job in resolve the phase 1 issue. Good job and keep it up Compromise: Do half development per Ron and other half as per Susy Problem Solve: Let's sit and talk about the issue and the reason for favoring one approach over the other. Once we discuss the viewpoints, let's adopt a solution which is good for the project Q12: Option A - Tried eliminating the incorrect options and arrived at A. Q13: Options B and D - shared items would facilitate increased collaboration between the teams Q14: Option B - as the legal team would be best to address any concerns with legal requirements Q15: Option D - Saving cost seemed to be appropriate as majority work was complete and associated budget used.

Question 2 : Another good question, if the all stories has been completed, it means they have met the DoD. Option D is eliminated. Option C, a product backlog is dynamic, it changes based upon the feedback, it is prepared by the Product Owner who has a clear understanding of the. customer being its representative. Option B is eliminated. Option B is eliminated because the test plan is only to make sure that the acceptance criteria is met. Option A is the best answer because Agile is more on getting constant feedback and involvement from the customer. Correct Ans A Question 3 : If you know my flip technique, then you know the answer is Finish to Start (key words cannot BEGIN until dev COMPLETED) Correct Ans A Question 4 : Option A is an extreme choice. it is not giving the Director a solution. I remembered in engagement, before coming up to the executives, you need to come up with a solution and not just say it will be corrected. Option B - Definition of Ready will ensure that requirements are clear and before beginning the work, this should be established. At this point, the work has already been selected for that iteration. Option C is a good choice because definition of Done will ensure that the functions are working and meets the acceptance criteria and more importantly, the functions are working and it passed testing. Examining this can fill in the gaps on WHY the scenario happened. Option D is a good choice because this is taking ACCOUNTABILITY of the work done and recording the lesson learned to prevent this from happening in the future. Option E is an extreme choice. Correct Ans C & D Question 7 : There is a problem and you do spike to find out that problem. You want team to agree on whatever deliverables are assigned to them, so D is the best choice. Correct Ans D Question 15 : A - closing the project should be discussed first in a kill-point session to ensure everyone is on the same page. This is also an extreme choice. C is not a good choice because it of LEGAL issues with the current design. D is also an extreme choice. B is the best choice because knowing which features are patented can be removed and alternate solutions can be added in the backlog and reprioritized. Correct Ans B I read all your comments, overall good job and thank you for participating. Varun

Question 1. B Since already my day is packed with internal meeting common retrospective will help me to understand what has gone well and how we can keep continue that and what needed more focuse can be taken care in next sprint. Question no 2 D Defination of the done must be understood by the team to meet the client expectation. Agreement can help to decide if the task is actually done or not. Question 3. A - Finish to start One team is depend on the completion of one task from another Question 4 B & C Possibly the person could not have tested properly and would be having understading on the defination of done. Question 5. B Iterative life cycle will help to understand project better way. Question 6: C First of all we need to start acting on the mandate by introducing the task in our sprint. Question 7: A & D We need to use the existing resource by upskilling them so that they can be self sufficient and take advide from creating thinker so that we can intact the quality. Question 9 : D Stake holder should know the inconvenience so we can take care about the impact. Question 10 : AC Actual Cost (This is also called as spent) EV : Earned Value (Actual amount of work completed) PV : PLanned Value (Amount of work one should do) Question 12 : A list of risks If we getting the list of rist then we can prioritize the task. Question 13: B & D Common Kanban can help to analyze the progress and making common milestone can have the team to better collaboration to achive the goal. Question 14: B Since its related to legal. We should take the guidance from legal team. Question 15: B Again since its related to pattent so its better to work closely with the legal team.

Question 6 : This is a mandatory requirement and cannot be MISSED especially. Mass production of labels are beginning in a week (close). Option A is a predictive method that follows Change control process, so it's not agile. Option B can be a good choice so they can get feedback because the existing one is small to accommodate the warnings. Option C update the sprint backlog to add the new requirement is not the process of agile in terms it should be submitted first to Product Backlog and reprioritized. Option D can be a good choice but mass production will be done in a week which will cost the organization some wastage if not done sooner. To be sure though, the compliance team knows when it will start. If we know the validity, we can have time to plan for the requirement. Correct Answer is D Question 7 : There is a problem and you do spike to find out that problem. Q1 - C (having focused scheduled meetings to sync would help) Q2 - A (regular feedback from customer would help) Q3 - A (development has to Finish and only testing can Start) Q4 - C and D (A and E cannot be correct, between B and C, C is better choice as one solution has not worked) Q5 - Iterative (repeated cycles keyword), Predictive (Scope, Cost and Time are pre-fixed), Hybrid (scope flexible and known rollout, Incremental (last choice) Q6 - D (check first with Compliance before proceeding and making next decision) Q7 - A and C (B - takes time, D - again time consuming, E - worst fit) Q8 - 1 is Bottom up (keyword make her way up), rest no idea Q9 - D (none of the other 3 will help to mitigate the resource issue) Q10 - A (15% only spent though 20% work done) and C (20% work done whereas the plan was 30%) Q11 - 1-B (avoid dealing both), 2-C (making both happy), 3-A (splitting equally to both), 4-D (best solution by discussing with both all pro/cons of both approaches and then decide) Q12 - A (assuming WBS is work breakdown system and its linked to activities) Q13 - B and D (keyword Common in both that can tackle the Silos issue in question) Q14 - B (disregard for Legal requirements in question, so best to take Legal advice) Q15 - C (issue is use of Patented component, remove it and develop alternative and proceed)

Three point - range of estimates (triangular, standard, beta, variance) Question 11 : A-2, B-3, C-1, D-4: Below are the keywords. COMPROMISE - HALF AND HALF; Avoid - let them do the decision; Smooth - "I heard that you both; Problem Solve - talk about the viewpoints then adopt… Question 12 : Activities come after WBS, so A is out. Bar chart and WBS are two different things all together, so B is out as well. List of risks are part of risk register, so C is out. Only option left is D which is team buy in. You want team to agree on whatever deliverables are assigned to them, so D is the best choice. I completed these questions after I did the HW#2 chapter quiz. I missed 5 of 15 questions on this one but I did learn a great deal from the explanations you provided on these questions. My trouble questions were: Q1: I chose A. I missed the boat on the Scrum of Scrum concept. Q2: I chose D. I didn't pick the best choice. Q6: I chose B. I didn't really connect that this was a compliance issue, so didn't pick the best choice. Q8: I got the Bottom up and Analogous estimating techniques correct. I mixed up the 3 point and Parametric estimating techniques. Your keyword explanations helped me have a better understanding of these, but I'll need to make sure I spend more time studying these techniques. Q12: I chose A. I missed the point that the team buy in is the most valuable deliverable of the WBS. AS a side note, I got Q10 correct, but I really didn't fully understand how I got the answer until I watched your explanation of these values. Earned value is a tough topic for me!

Correct Ans C Question 2 : Another good question, if the all stories has been completed, it means they have met the DoD. Correct Ans A Question 6 : This is a mandatory requirement and cannot be MISSED especially. Q1. Execute with scrum of scrums because this could be considered a separate track although part of the bigger project. This would also ensure the machine learning part also gets prioritized as and when required in the project cycle. Q2. Obtain customer review feedback on Incremental release demos and User tests - This is a sure way of no surprises for both the team and the customer after the product is released. Q3. Finish to Start Q4. C, D. Q5. iterative, predictive, hybrid, incremental Q6. C - That is the immediate action to be taken. Only after adding requirement can we proceed with any work associated with it.(wrong. correct chice is D) Q7. C, D. Introducing Tshaped profiles increases versatility there by helping efficiency in Agile projects because they should be self sustaining. Getting help from creative thinkers can add perspectives which were not seen previously.(Wrong. A, C) Q8. Dont know Q9. D. The immediate next step should be to inform the impacted stakeholders and ask for extension. Q10. Dont know Q11. Compromise, Avoid, Smooth, Problem solve Q12. A. Activities are part of WBS.(Wrong. D) Q13. C, D. It is important to go granular in order to estimate better and not lose sight of the delivery schedule. Also, common milestone would help tighten areas of interdependency. (Wrong. B, D) Q14. B. Getting a go ahead from the concerned team is the best choice. Q15. B. Talk to Legal in order to avoid any issues for the completed part and also to avoid future isssues.

Here’s the answers I came up with; Q1-A (I believe the Kanban board could provide visibility to all stakeholders to review the work being done over the course of the project at their convenience) Q2-A (From my experience with alpha and beta runs on projects, trends emerged where the best results were yielded when iterative changes were integrated from stakeholders that would guarantee a quality MVP) Q3-B (I attended a masterclass from Varun and this technique resonated with me greatly to help me answer) Q4-C & D (I find that ‘lessons learned’ aid a progressive team and it’s often a case where the intention was well intended but the end result would need revision. The lessons learned can be documented along with the correct solution and signs to look out for when the product is not working correctly) Q5-1 is Hybrid, 2 is Iterative, 3 is Predictive & 4 is Incremental (Based on educated guesses with the scenario’s proposed timelines) Q6-D (It’s important to know if the solution is compliant before assigning resources to enact on it) Q7-B & E (New tasks being added to a designer’s workload can seem like ‘rewarding hard work with more work’ so it’s essential to provide additional time to complete the tasks but also to remind them that the hard work is not going unnoticed and motivate them when times seem dim) Q8-N/A I don’t know these terms Q9-D (As a PjM, it’s essential to perceive possible solutions and provide them to the stakeholders for the best agreed upon outcome) Q10-A & C(Educated guess based on the numbers reflected the money spent and actual status of the project as being behind vs where it should be) Q11-1 is Compromise, 2 is Avoid, 3 is Smooth, 4 is Problem Solve (Sounded like how I would think about solving issues in my actual role) Q12-D (In resource allocation, I keep a list of skillsets per person to assign with purpose, not just adding a body to a project and I believe the team will need to agree to work together to achieve the common goal) Q13-B & D (The use of the word ‘common’ in both answers suggest the teams have to work together) Q14-B (I heard the Neil Armstrong method before pausing and immediately thought to just check for guidance first if it were me in this position) Q15-B (The PO may deduce what conflicts with the patent and work with Legal to avoid doing work that strikes as a similarity)

Q1- C (I've no idea about other 3 options but I'm aware of daily scrum since the question had "less frequently" so guessed that scrum layer would be conducted on daily basis.) Q2-D (An agreement with customer on success criteria might prevent future projects). Q3- A. (The development needs to be finished so that testing can be started.) Q4- C&D (It seems the correct approach of a project manager) Q5- (Predictive life cycle-->2nd), (Iterative life cycle-->1st), (Incremental life cycle-->4th), (Hybrid life cycle-->3rd) Q6- D (Any New regulation has to be checked with compliance team) Q7- A & D (Design work has to be creative hence opting for those both options) Q8- (Analogous-->3rd), (Parametric-->4th), (Three point-->2nd), (Bottom up-->1st) Q9- D (Stakeholders need to be notified in case of impact on project schedule and budget) Q10- A&C (The project budget $100,000 and for 20% money spent should have been $20,000) Q11- (Avoid-->2nd), (Smooth-->4th), (Compromise-->1st), (Problem solve->3rd) Q12- C (A list of risks will help new project manager ) Q13- B & D (Both options might sync up the teams) Q14- B (Alterations in legal need to be verified with organization legal team ) Q15- B (Guessed this option as none of the rest options seems to coordinate with legal team )

8. Analogous: some activities have been done previously, comparing with the similar nature of previous projects. Parametric: effort is estimated on one unit and numbers are used to calculate by multiplying with total number units. Three point: estimate the best, worst and average case as no clear details available. And then reach to a conclusion. Bottom up: estimate for small work package and then reach up to the activity/WBS/project.

Hi, Q1: Option A : as it reduce the motion waste and be able to still fit in the schedule . Option C was my second option as well but i do not choose as I am not sure of the size of the project. Q2: Option A: as frequent customer interaction give timely feedback and helpful to attain the successrate. Option C was my second option though as I still thought product vision should be inline all the time. Q3 : Option A : Finish to start Q4: Option B &C as it ends up discussing with team, that is how we could attain the solution. We cannot blame the team member later on and also addressing the director is not required as it is not requested as well. Q5: Order - Iterative lifecycle, Predictive life cycle, Hybrid life cycle, Incremental lifecycle Q6: Option D: once the format is selected this requires approval as the next step. Q7: Option C&D : doubtful about A but not sure what is creativity spike. Q8: Order - Three point estimating, parametric, analagous, bottomup Q9: Option D : best out of all others didnt fit in the process Q10: Option A and C, as I see AC with 20% work is below budget and instead of 30% only 20% of work in done and already behind schedule. Q11: Order: Compromise, Avoid, Smooth, Problem solve Q12: Option A: Activities ( After seeing video : I dint know about Team buy-in) Q13: Option D&E, ( didnt choose kanban board because i thought they are not often used in predictive, basically dint read the question properly) Q14: Option B : that was the best of all as lessons learned cannot be better option due to legal issue. Q15: Option D: ( not familiar with backlog refinement, other options are not ok) -Preethi M

Q-5 A-iterative (repeated cycles), B-Defined in early phases (predictive) C-constantly changing but done in a known phased approach (hybrid), D-as quick as possible (incremental) Q-6 Since production is starting in a week there is only one thing that could be done is to get approval. But from whom? D or A. I will choose D Compliance Team for approval since this a regulatory issue instead of managerial or ethical which goes to Steering Committee. Q-7 B and E. Design work seems to be ok and that is why all creativity is out of scope. There is no lack of resource no T-shaped ones. Q-8 A-Bottom up since she is try to go up to WBS, B-Parametric since it depends on several parameters, C-Analogous since it is similar D-Three Point since it is only left :) Q-9 D-Armstrong technique before as a PM I will take it to stakeholders. Q-10 A and C-Behind the schedule because of % of completeness is less than it was expected. And spend money is less than should be spent. Q-11 A-Compromise half-half B-Avoid do not have time C-Smooth doing good D-Problem Solve let sit Q-12 A- Activities likes a result of WBS. This sound as most reasonable Q-13 B and D since they are related to scheduling Q-14 B first thing to do is to ask competent source for a help Q-15 B I will check with legal team and team itself whether there is anything related. Correct Ans : A & C Question 12 : Activities come after WBS, so A is out. Bar chart and WBS are two different things all together, so B is out as well. List of risks are part of risk register, so C is out. Only option left is D which is team buy in. You want team to agree on whatever deliverables are assigned to them, so D is the best choice. Question 4 : Option A is an extreme choice. it is not giving the Director a solution. Correct Ans C & D I read all your comments, overall great job and thank you for participating. This shows me exactly how you think and this is important for your PMP exam. Varun

Correct Ans C Question 2 : Another good question, if the all stories has been completed, it means they have met the DoD. Option D is eliminated. Q1 - Option C - Scrum of Scrums - Currently working in SAFe framework and we are utilizing the same concept of SOS to tackle all the dependencies. Q2 - I chose Option C - while selecting the answer my thought process is anyway as part of Agile ceremonies we are giving demos Sprint on Sprint and addressing the feedback so it's must be some change in product vision that's the reason the Product owner not considering this as completed, but after watching the explanation from Varun I also agree option A is better choice. Q3 - I choose Option B - Start to finish - My answer is wrong and learn the new technique or concept called diagonal relationship techniques. Q4 - I Selected D&B - which is partially correct - My logic is D- Lesson learned to avoid such a situation in the future * B - Tighten the gap in the definition of ready to find out the impacted area with current fix. Q5 - I was Partially correct - Q6 - I chose Options A & D- Reason for A - it's change request came later in the development phase based on the Market regulation changes so we need approval from the steering committee and D - > and as this was raised by the compliance team so prototype /Format we need their approval as well Q7 - Option A & C - I recently completed some learning on T-shaped skills in one of the Agile sessions, so have the idea. Q8 - I was just guessing the answer based on little knowledge, which is wrong. Q9 - Option D - it was an obvious choice to inform the stakeholders of the impact and raise the change request Q10- Option A & Option C - Simple understanding of where the team was supposed to complete 30% of work but they were only able to complete 20% so they are behind the schedule on the cost side for 20% work they spent $15 k which is 5k less than Actual expenses so project is under budget. Q11 - It's an easy set of options, by reading the scenario able to choose the correct one. - A - Compromise, B - Avoid, C - Smooth, D - Problem Solve Q12 - I chose Option A - which was wrong, my understanding related to WBS is wrong. Q13 - I chose Option B & D - Option B because the common Kanban board gives visibility and more collaboration within teams & Option D makes a common goal and Milestone brings the team to work together to achieve the same. Q14 - I choose Option B - Any Alteration related to Legal needs to be verified and signed off by the Legal team before starting any changes. Q15 - I choose Option B - My thought process is like before taking any extreme decision on project closure /Termination visit the backlog with the Legal team who raised the concern that is the immediate next step.

Q1. Option A - The electronic kanban is a kind of visual dashboard probably that can provide the information that have been carried so far and might also helps to identify the devlopment areas. Q2. Option A - Getting a customer feedback at each release might probably avoid this issues, because we can easily make changes when the customer feels dissatisfied and also it will be difficult to identify the issue and change it at last stage. Q3. Option A - The team is asking to finish the development to start of with the testing. Q4. Options C&D - As the Quality-in-Charge team demands an explanation we need to check with the team member on his rational how he arrived at that solution, secondly identify the issue and come up with action plan and turn around time of fixing the issue. Q5 - Options - C, A, B & D - Incremental is something which is happening repeatedly, Predictive is something we assume and no change are carried out, Iterative means some phase is completed fully, Hybrid is something fast approach using two combinations. Q6 - Option B - The team have already decided on the solution now they have to implement it, now they have to prepare the lables to include in the cover. Q7 - Options C & D - Since the engineers have earned new duties to balance the additional task recruit t-shaped profiles people so that they can be used on to another project once the additional task are done. Secondly as their is dipped we can get assistance from creative thinkers to train the team. Q8 - Options - B, C, D & A (no idea, just an assumption) Q9 - Option D - Since there is impact in schedule and budget this has to be intimated to the stakeholders. Q10 - Options A & C - If 20% worth of work is completed means the amount spent should be 20000, but here it is 15000 hence Under Budget. Secondly by this time 30% of work should be completed but now only 20% is done which is Behind schedule. Q11 - Options C, A, B & D - 1st option looks like the project manager just wanted to compromise the issue between two instead of solving the problem, 2nd it clearly states that he does not have time and avoids the situation, 3rd he is praising the work which was already done and not find the solution for the current issue just like smoothing the things, 4th is the problem identifying session and resolving the same. Q12 - Option A (no idea, just an assumption) Q13 - Options B & D - As we need to make both the teams sync this would be best options. Q14 - Option B - Since they are asking to disregard the legal requirements, it is concerned on legal things hence we should first check as per company legal team. Q15 - Option B - Since the legal team have intimated on the information then work with them.

D-3 scope is changing but roll out can be phased Question 6 : This is a mandatory requirement and cannot be MISSED especially. Correct Ans D I read all your comments, overall great job and thank you for participating.. Varun

Q2. A - this seems to be good, as it will enable the project team to have the feedback regularly from customer, rather than waiting till end. B - There is nothing mentioned about NFR in question, can be eliminated. C - product vision can give an over view of end product, but it won't provide the entire aspect in detail. D - This seems to be a good choice as well. This enables the project team to ensure the end result through “definition of done”. Between A & D, D is better. Final answer: D

This is my HW#0 Here are my answers along with expalations: 1. C Here, in agile project, someone from outside the team is trying to join the daily meeting. This shows, he wants to communicate. In session, as Mentor Gautham told, in Scrum of Scrum, 1 person from each team joins the meeting and that too not so frequently. So, I chose answer C. 2. D I feel in D.O.D, exact answer to whats needs to be done should be there, along with the requirements. If you ask someone to design a study table for you, the details like height. width, purpose, how the surrounding should be, need a bookshelf or not etc should also be mentioned. So that, both parties are clear with the requirements and expectations. 3. A Used the Flip technique. 4. C, D C: To ensure that its good to move ahead of any module, each and every requirement of that module's use should be checked. D: As its post release, so retrospective has already taken place. So, what went well and what need to be improved should be known now. 5. Predictive: When all three: scope, time and cost are determined at early phase Incremental: Launch ASAP with MVP to show presence and test feasibility. Features can be added in further releases. Iterative: Scope is known but, time and cost are changing Hybrid: Scope is changing but, release will occur in a known phased(Fixed) 6. D As new change is to be implemented, it needs to go through a Change Request which should be run through the Change Compliance team. 7. C, D C: T-shaped profile means, jack for all/multiple traits D: Team members can enable themselves on performing new duties better if mentored by experts 8. Bottom up: Work packages to WBS Parametric: can be considered as, how many cables they installed per hour 3 point: Range of estimates Analogous: Some reference data is available 9. D Unavailability of resource is a known known. As employee is not available, it will definitely have some impact on schedule/deliverables. To meet that impact, some changes need to be done for correction. Any change, needs to go through a Change Request along with good impact analysis. 10. C,A C: By the time, question says that 30% work should have been done. But in real, only 20% is done. A: For 20% work, 20K$ was to spent. But in real, only 15K$ is spent. So, we still have 5K$ saving. So, we are good with budget. 11. Compromise: Manager is not helping them. He is just suggesting divide the work and do your bit your way then, Avoid: Here, manager seems not to provide any input to them Smooth: Manager is appreciating them but, not helping Problem solve: Manager invited them for a meeting to discuss the issue and brainstorm to conclude with a solution. Here, he really seems to help the team 12. A Expanding WBS gives us the work packages which tells us the activities 13. I did not get this question. 14. B If it feels to diregard the legal requirements, its better to check first with legal team that whether it is disregarding or not 15. B Product backlog should be refined by collaborating with legal team as they only informed about it.

Q1: Answer is option C, The Scrum of Scrums is a time-boxed session in which a representative from each Team shares high-level updates on their respective team's work and articulates their progress and impediments. Q2: Answer is Option D, Intent is to get the success criteria documented for respective features/stories as part of the DoD. This way we can ensure customer product success measure/criteria is met along with incremental feedback loops. Q3: Answer is A, as clearly started unless all the requirements are full developned cant start testing them Q4: Answer is C & D , post release the functionality failed which clearly indicates that there is gap is the DoD : on what grounds it got passed/approved for release. Team meber who solved the poblem needs to review the code and provide an RCA as well which serves as preventive measure ( lesssons learnt ) Q5: Giving order of life cycles wrt the options provided - Iterative , Predictive, Hybrid and Incremental Q6: Answer is D, since the mass production is already slated to being in a week these said option make sense Q7: B & D are the best choices according to me . Well performing design teams output ina new role dropped so they definitely need motivation and mentoring in the new role more than any other thing.Hiring T shaped resources will require more time if we need the root cuase to be resolved at the earliest. Q8: Arranging answers in order for the provided options - Bottom Up, Parametric, Analogous and Three Point Q9: Answer is D, PM has noc control over resources as its been managed by the Functional manager hence he sticks to the PM norms and takes needful action. Q10: I selected A & C with basic maths calculations but actual explanation made more sense as I didnt do it the mentor's way. ( I'm counting zero score for me on this one ) EV = Actual amount work completed, PV = Planned work to be done, AC = keyword for AC is SPENT EV is 20% of BAC and PV is 30% of BAC , BAC = $100,000 SV = EV - PV ( Negative is Bad ) behind schedule CV = EV - AC ( Positive means under budget ) Q11: Arranging answers in order for the provided options -Compromise, Avoid, Smooth and Problem Solve Q12: D, without team buy in we can't commit to the plan Q13: B & D as they are aiming to solve the problem of working in silos. Q14: B , straightforward : legal and compliance Q15: B , corrective action

Iterative LC: series of repeated cycles until it reaches perfection. We perform number of cycles to sure the perfection. Predictive LC: all terms determined in the early phases of life cycle. We determined all things in early stage but situation can be varied in real time execution. Incremental LC: Scope is constantly changing for the new deliverable, but rollout of the deliverable would be done in know phased approach. Hybrid LC: A project which need to be launched in the marked as quickly as possible. We make another version or update the later after market or customer feedback received.

This is my first video on the eduhubspot by Varun and my Homework#0 , great value addition, easy to understand explanations. Learnt some new techniques. Here are my answers Q1 - Option C - Scrum of Scrums - This approach works better when you work with multiple Agile teams and you have less time to show up to each of your agile teams standups. In SoS you usually have 1 key person from each of those teams represented in the call and as a PM you will get to know what you need in terms of how well each of the team is progressing in this sprint , we get to know if they have any dependencies or risks or issues collaborating or coordinating with other teams. Q2 - I chose Option D over A - although the incremental feedback is necessary , but we cannot call it a success unless it satisfies the success criteria defined and satisfies the Definition of Done , so I felt D is a better choice. May be I have to revisit and check the Video again for Varun's explanation Q3 - Option A - Finish to Start - It was more like a waterfall approach , finish the development first to get the testing started, but I like the diagonal relationship technique that Varun explained Q4 - D&C - Process of elimination - other options were easier to eliminate - In Retrospectives , we always capture the lessons learned and were we fell short, it is the same here. Q5 - I was totally off on this - need to revisit this again to check Varun's explanation Q6 - I chose Option B - I was wrong on this one, but after listening to Varun , the Neil armstrong technique made sense, correct choice is Option D - you cant go ahead and develop a prototype before determining the validity of the format, that makes sense as a logical next step Q7 - Option A & B - Option A because of the Creativity spike, but the other option I chose was B because I felt in the team building events you get to know people better and once you build that connection with other team members , you can get to the root cause on why they are under performing especially otherwise they are all high skilled designers. But I learnt something new about the T-shaped profile Option C , thats a valid option too. But my argument is without even knowing why they are underperforming adding a T-shaped profile doesn't make sense. Q8 - I was just guessing on the options on this and I was way off - learnt more about estimating techniques using Key words Q9 - Option D - it was an obvious choice to inform the stakeholders of the impact and raise the change request Q10- Option A & Option C - Under Budget because they spent only 15K in a place where they should have spent 20K , Behind schedule because they should have completed 30% instead they completed only 20%. Q11 - It was easy to determine from conflict resolution descriptions - A - Compromise , B - Avoid, C - Smooth, D - Problem Solve Q12 - I chose Option A - which was wrong , Option D - Team Buy in was a better option , The biggest deliverable from a WBS was how you break down the bigger scope into smaller phases and then to smaller activities & tasks Q13 - I chose Option B & C - Option B because common Kanban board & Option C align to the releases , but after listening to Varuns explanation , understood to use some key words there , there is a Common or shared milestones in Option D which was a better option Q14 - Option B - similar to the earlier question on compliance, this is the logical next step, didnt make the same mistake I made on the earlier Q6 Q15 - Option B - same as above , that is the immediate next step - to talk to the legal team to get their guidance

I must say that some of these concepts are strange, but I’ll try to answer as best as I can. Q1. B. They would need to find some alignment between their tasks to get the job done. Q2. A. Obtaining customer’s feedback would have exposed the customers concern early enough. Q3. A. Finish-to Start. You need to finish the development of all the requirements before they can commence testing. Q4. C & D. It is crucial to identify the gaps that caused the entire function. Also, it would be worthwhile to ask the team member to explain his thoughts and put forward the lessons learnt as reference for subsequent projects. Q5. Hybrid, Predictive, Iterative, and Incremental (in this order. This is a guess work though). Q6. D. The warning on label is non-negotiable and must be done. Whether the fold-out flab would be accepted needs to be checked with and approved. Q7. B & D. It is possible that the team moral is low, so it is important to motivate the team. Also, mentoring them is also a good idea. Q8. Bottom Up, Three-Point, Parametic and Analogous Estimate Q9. A. The Project Manager needs to note this in the plan and make the necessary updates. Q10. A & C. The project is behind schedule being that it is currently at 20% rather than 30%. Q11. Compromise, Avoid, Smooth and Problem Solve Q12. A. (I have no idea what a WBS means) Q13. B & C (I just think this are the most reasonable answers) Q14. A. Have their request documented and approved. Q15. B

B is a good choice but will overload the existing team members because of added work on top of already assigned work. C is not a good choice because the team member is a shared resource which can be pulled out anytime for some higher priority. Answer is D because it will basically cause a variance in schedule and cost baseline. Correct Ans D Question 12 : Activities come after WBS, so A is out. Hybrid - Its looks like a combination of Predictive & Agile since the scope is fixed but time & cost are modified Predictive - Scope, Time & cost are fixed Iterative - Scope is changing but the Release is fixed Incremental - I think with Incremental, the product will launched with minimum features and features will be released as and when they are ready.

5. Predictive: scope, cost and time are all defined, like traditional waterfall model. Another synonym is Fixed price project. Iterative: scope is changing, but will be rolled out in phased manner. Incremental: needs to be launched in the market as quickly as possible, and enhance over it by adding new features gradually Hybrid: scope is defined early, but time and cost will be modified as and when project progresses. Repeated cycles till perfection.

A is the answer A) Getting interim cutomer reviews or feedbacks will hep to ensure that the project is in right track B) This is not fool proof C) Still there is a chance of missing items which can only be rectified with interim review with customer D) This is also a food option. But still lack of interim review may invite customer dissatisfaction as things may come out more clearly when they review it. 3. D-3 scope is changing but roll out can be phased Question 7 : There is a problem and you do spike to find out that problem. You want team to agree on whatever deliverables are assigned to them, so D is the best choice. Correct Ans D Question 13 : B is to have visibility of the deliverables and D is to have common milestones. A is not a good choice because agile is more suitable for software dev projects. C is maybe a good choice to split different tasks of the work package that will align with the software releases dependency but will not ensure sync for 2 different teams. E is same as C. Correct Ans B & D Question 15 : A - closing the project should be discussed first in a kill-point session to ensure everyone is on the same page. Varun

Question 4 : Option A is an extreme choice. it is not giving the Director a solution. Correct Ans C & D Varun

Nice , however if you look at the statement to Question 3. you can deduce the answer without flipping from the fact that they cannot begin (Start) if the PM does not complete (Finish) the requirements. Since the PM needs to Finish before they can start. then Finish Start should come to mind.

B - It can be a good choice, as this provides an option to showcase what’s in progress of development. C - Finding gaps in “definition of done” will increase quality. So, could be a good choice. D - This can provide a viewpoint of team member and can lead to get the actual explanation. E - warning team members doesn’t seem to be justified. I will go with answer B & D.
