A very appreciated "memento" of one of greatest performer of romantic piano music. I think he's undisputedly the best performer of Schubert at least in our modern time but obviously also Grieg was in his heart Happy Orthodox Easter to whomever celebrates it and may it bring allover the world peace and wisdom!

Hello my dear friend. This is one of my favorite piano concerto by the great norwegian composer. Radu Lupu ( riquéscat In Pace) seems still living with this master interpretation. Yes, this Easter holiday is beautiful everywhere, even if the different traditions do not calculate the date of this holiday in the same way. Wow! Lupu makes this a classy work .So natural and innocent sounding. I've never heard it like this doesn't become fiery except for the octaves in 5th minute . Restrained entrance so you have some where to go and listen to his clarity and the piano itself has a full-bodied tone ! Lupu was special I didn't know he played this popular stuff but thiswas in the beginning of his big career so much he didn't record ,Bunch of Beethoven Sonatas and the 3 Schumann Sonatas we dont have nor the 2nd Brahms. Did he record any big Chopin works like theFantasie or Barcarolle I know I would have heard one of the Sonatas by now if ever had ? Any Mozart sonata broadcasts from earlier .I'll have to look . Really wonderful here can't imagine what the finale will sound like?

Thank you very much for your interest in Radu Lupu performance. It is said that he "narrated" to us the music on the piano.... He has many recordings, including Mozart and Beethoven. In the archive of Romanian Television there is also a unique recording for Concert no. 19, KV 459 by W.A. Mozart. There is also on internet a full list of his records. Thank you again!
