Seeing how bad the damage on Edward looked, I imagine him screaming in pain.

It's hard to compare, seeing as their souls inhabit objects who can be repaired but cannot heal, but this seems to be like a tibia breaking through your skin and sinew, but you resetting the bone, redistributing the weight on your hips, and marching home on your knees.

Indeed one of Awdry's finest. However I feel it would have been more convenient, if the Fat Controller would not have been left unknown of why they were taking so long before they returned. They could have had the nearest signalman send a message ahead to the Big Station. But that does not hinder the story essentially.

This story here is amongst the most remarkable to the importance of Edward, his character personality, and his overall journey throughout the series. It ain't no secret at all towards my opinion of why I think Edward is the true protagonist of the Railway Series. Here's a goof surely. Duck is a hypocrite. He tells Gordon, James and Henry in this story to 'shut up' yet talks at length about being Great Western.
@robobird33833 жыл бұрын
This implies that bragging about your old railway is equivalent to insulting a good friend and saying he should retire.
@ToastTheThe2 жыл бұрын
That's definitely not hypocritical. Duck was boasting because the great western celebrity City of Turo just visited the railway before. Gordon was basically saying Edward should be euthanized before he dies by breaking down. ("before it's too late")

Some of the coolest pictures are the ones where you don't see the faces. But one thing I never understood as a kid, and still don't understand today, is why taking off his traction rods would help him. Could someone explain that to me?
@HolyKhaaaaan7 жыл бұрын
Because one of the pins holding the one on his left broke, and apparently they hadn't the wherewithal to repair or replace the pin. The left rod is what wrecked his body; so they took it off. They had to take the other one off as well; I suspect you must connect both sides of the axle for traction rods to work properly.

I feel sorry 4 Donald and Douglas coz they lost their railway 2 extremely rude diesels. I look at stepney passing three other diesels on the other railway in bluebells of England in book 18, and I think, I feel sorry 4 the steam engines that were scrapped and how rude the diesels from the other railway were in the railway series. It's like the other railway in the railway series is the most dreaded railway in the world

Question. Why did the producers of the TV Series Disney-fy episodes like 'Steam Roller' and 'Toad Stands By' to a point where the phrase 'shut up' got replaced with 'be quiet'? There is no Disneyfication in this episode where that phrase gets mentioned again [anyone would think Duck could've said in the adaptation: 'Keep quiet!' OWTTE], or 'Dirty Work' when Duck bangs the trucks.
