The last thing I was expecting this show to do was to use KB's storyline to address a) why it's important to respect, support, and accommodate the needs of those with disabilities, and b) encourage people to voice their needs instead of silencing themselves to avoid "inconveniencing" others. I masked AuDHD my whole life and even as an adult I feel ashamed of speaking up when I need certain accommodations even though those needs are 100% valid. This episode was unexpectedly brilliant, I hope a lot of people feel seen after watching it

Great point I also struggled with similar issues when I was younger. The other thing I connected with was how the friends were having issues just being friends. I had VERY similar issues with my friends in elementary school (almost identical in an abstract way) so when Fern and KB appoligized and hugged it broke me. Loved this episode and love that Star Wars is still carrying on George Lucas' vision for inspiring young people as they transition into adulthood.

I've dealt with disabilities most of my life. I was in Special Ed during my Junior and Senior high school years. We Special Ed students were considered "outsiders". I've never been able to ride a bicycle due to balance issues and I'm also considered legally blind. I'm 58 now and started using a cane 12 years ago to get around and also started using a walker a few years ago, depending on the situation. I did manage to work for the same employer for 20 years granted it was "sheltered" employment, but a paycheck is a paycheck. I try not to let my disabilities get in the way, but it's not easy.
@ichigen51117 күн бұрын
@@NelsonVlog66 Are you able to watch this show? You said you are legally blind. If so, how did it make you feel? I am profoundly interested in how it made you feel based on your life. This particular episode touched me in an intimate way. It reminded me of my childhood friendships among other things. Reminded me of how I had a hard time getting along with my best friend here and there. We got along and then didn't. It was confusing and I didn't understand. We both had triggers and they would pop off for both of us from time o time. My childhood was not easy from that perspective and this show gives me a type of validation for struggling as a kid with my friends. I'm 52 years old. I relate to all four of these kids for different reasons. Thank you for sharing your story.

I absolutely loved this episode. The disability rep was so important. And while you never want the party to split up, I liked seeing Fern & Neel bond and KB & Wim bond. Until now they’ve been sticking to boys vs girls, and this episode showed them breaking out of it and then coming together as a team, no doubt leading to them eventually being a true group of friends. When the “Directed By” popped up I also said “yay Bryce!” out loud.

The pirates might all turn on each other once they get close to it, realizing how much wealth is at stake. The kids will have to get external help because we heard in earlier episodes that At Attin was defenseless and only relying on the cloaking.

Nice focus and character development for KB with her implants being the way to help with her disability (i am guessing some sort of neurological damage). That was good, KB was the only one until now with little character development between the four kids. And some for Fern too because of it, to learn people are different and their needs and habilities aren't all the same as hers Also wonder how long until Job make those pirates be at each other throats. He already planted the seeds of doubt with the idea of treasure of At Attin. Also it is curious how he really avoided using the Force in front of those pirates. Between the Force and the lightsaber he could have overpowered a handfull of pirates. Guessing he wants to use the crew as disposable canon fodder to whatever dangers are between him and the treasure. That being said this was a really short episode. Really wish LF would stop with those less than 30min episodes, that is animation size not something for a live action.
