I have been a fan of Edward Woodward since his acting and singing was known to me, I am over seventy, so I look back upon his career with pleasure.

I will always treasure this version of the song I always associate with the first woman I ever loved. It was on the radio when I got back to my digs one Saturday night in 1971 after we'd been out for a meal.

He was known more as an actor. He played the title role in the UK tv series Callan in the sixties and many movie roles including the original movie The Wicker Man, later badly redone by Nicholas Cage. In the mid 80s, he was the lead in the American series...The Equalizer. It was made into a movie in 2015 with Denzel Washington. Prior to his death he was doing another US tv series I actually can't find any reference to where he was partnered with a housewife in a detective drama. He was up there with Olivier and Gilguid. Very versatile man and a sad loss....a national treasure.

I woke up with this version of this song in my head this morning. I have no idea why, I don't think I've heard it for 50 years. Wonderful memories - thanks so much for the upload.
