I cannot believe I am actually seeing the legendary Eden whose group wrote one of my favorite songs, "East of Eden", for. Everyone, look up the lyrics and it is super moving and the title alone made me swoon with symbolism. If I remember correctly, Eden left to pursue his college education in North America so the song is literally about the group being in the eastern hemisphere when their friend was in the west. I discovered the group after this song so I never thought I would see an updated interview with Eden since some IDOLS desire more normalcy after leaving.

Eden and Eddy could have their own show/podcast I swear. ya'll talked about kpop business/industry things that I've always wondered about or noticed too. It's interesting bc a member of a boy group I'm a fan of, said that when he was a trainee, he was looking into a backup plan/career in case he never debuted, and honestly that's the most realistic thing ever. Even in trainee periods, if they don't debut or they look for another company, there must be lots of improved trainees who have amazing talent and skills, but the chances of finding a place in a company or even a way to stand out and debut is so slim. and success after debut is like the hardest test yet. You have to prove to the public and broadcasting stations, why YOU are worth their time and why should YOU be aired on their show. Literally, companies and managers have to work hard to pitch the group and get them gigs to even begin with. (well, unless you're from a big company lol but even then, if you're from a big company, you still have to live up to that polished and professional standard. :/

If you are an idol, it is really important to be good at different things outside of your group. This is especially true if you are at a lesser known company or group. For example, Jinyoung from B1A4 made most of his money from producing, songwriting, and composing. And he continues to do that and acting even after leaving the group.

I’m old school Kpop too, I found Kpop back in 2006, back in the SNSD days and was a huge Blackjack fan [2Ne1 for all you kids], I loved FX, Wonder girls, Brown Eyed Girls, Big Bang, Shinwa, etc…. Now it’s funny how everyone thinks BTS is THE beginning of Kpop (don’t @me Army). I’m glad things are getting better… hoping there aren’t as many slave contracts as I’ve not kept up things.
