Ah, those were the days! When the critique said about your participation in the Nadia Boulanger Competition that the only criticism that could be launched at Mr Crossley-Mercer was that he did not give any of the other contestants a chance. If you are too modest to remember those words, I should.remind you that I have the newspaper article. It was then that I began to say to myself: that wee fella just might have what it takes after all!

I came to love much of what I hear by him, but had no idea he actually has been "a hit" since a competition!
