Dude, thank you so much for an honest opinion on Bali. I think so many travellers just want to perpetuate perceptions of some of these places as to what "paradise" is. Once again your videos might affect what I might do in the future. Especially nice work on the sound during the Gili T drone footage too. Cheers mate :) honesty is key! I just do not get the hype and fuss about Bali...there are so many more beautiful, better options on Indonesia that you'll see more of in the next few videos. It was such a shame because I had such high expectations having seen all the Bali hype on Instagram and KZbin 😂 guess the only way you ever really find out about a place is going yourself! Ah you stayed in Kuta! Yeah, that's not the best place to stay. We stayed their our first time also and hated it. Our second time, we were in Canggu. Spent two months there and explored every inch of a Bali almost. I wish I went to Gilli though! Looks awesome from your videos! Just subbed :)

Yeah Kuta was absolutely the worst mistake we could have made haha...not the vibe we were after at all. I just got so frustrated with how long it took to get anywhere. Two months sounds amazing because then you really have the time to explore and see everything. Such a shame that you didn't make it to the Gilis - 100% make sure you visit the next time you're there, you'll adore it! It's the literal definition of tropical paradise. And thanks so much for the support :) really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. You earned my sub the other week when I saw your amazing Vietnam videos. Keep it up!

Glad you agree haha...I don't want to hate on Bali but unfortunately yeah...it just wasn't my thing. Staying in Kuta was definitely the main mistake, I've learned to avoid like you have . When I'm heading to Lombok or wherever, I fly in to Kuta but get back out as soon as possible on a connecting flight. The Gilis are unreal right? Like I was just saying in my reply on your video I think Air is actually my favourite one - it had the perfect balance of everything. Once again thank you, really appreciate the support man. Love this video. The “Fine” thing reminds me of driving to Obrigon in Mexico back in the 70’s. I was stoped going into town and leaving the other side of town to make a “Donation “. It was a bribe, but fortunately I spoke Spanish very well back then. It got me out of a lot of “fines” lol. Yes turtles can give you salmonella. Great video.👍🏻

We also wanted to visit gili islands and lombok by the end of August. But the Region suffered from heavy earthquake last year. Many bulidings and Hotels still destroyed. So we decided to spend 5 days in south of bali and 5 days at kei islands. It seems you love untouched islands so check out kei islands. Seems like paradise- so i m really looking forward to visit the keis ;))

You should see it now. Kuta is a ghost town. I just flew to bali recently (PCR test and doctors note required). I wasn’t treated with respect until covid hit and tourism went non-existent. I’m guessing it’s because they needed every penny. Much love from jakarta

Ahh man, I can only imagine. It's a really sad state of affairs what has happened! I imagine there are a lot of people out there suffering. I think if you can get out into the more quieter, more rural areas, it's going to be a better trip. And man...Gili T is just unreal. The literal definition of 'tropical paradise' haha. I completely had the same situation as you. I went to Bali when I was young (kid) and loved it. So I decided to come back with my girlfriend when I was older and we both hated it. We have been all over asia and Bali is at the bottom of our list. Later we went back to Indonesia for other destinations including the Gili island, we fell in love with the Gili islands so much that we stayed almost 2 months on Gili T, Gili A and Gili M haha. The turtles and sharks there are amazing. Later we went to other destinations such as Bukit Lawang and also loved it. Next month we go to Flores/Komodo and we know its gonna be good :) We just never go back to Bali haha

Hi Josh on your video on 3:46 that waterfall is in Lombok not Bali. That waterfalls called Tiu Kelep.Waterfalls which is located in Senaru of North Lombok. Thanks mate :) much appreciated! Aye it was a shame about Bali but we got over it pretty quick once we discovered Gili T haha! And yeah great question. Usually I just trawl through Spotify playlists and music-orientated channels here on KZbin like Majestic Casual, saving and downloading songs I like. Then when it comes to using one of those songs in an edit I jump on to KZbin, go to the 'creator studio', then click on the 'create' option on the left-hand panel and you'll see there it says 'music policies'. When you click on that you can search any song in the world and find out what KZbin's copyright policy is with it. So a lot, if not all, of the songs I use in my videos are perfectly fine to use on KZbin, it's just that I can't monetise the video. Instead, the person who owns the rights to the song(s) I've used can monetise the video. Obviously right now it's no problem because I'm a small time KZbinr not bringing in any revenue. If I happened to be pulling in thousands of views and subs etc, I would want to look at monetising, and then I'd have to be extra picky with the songs I was using. I'd probably use a site like Epidemic sound where you pay a monthly fee for tonnes of royalty-free music. Hope that answers your question! The key thing is just checking by using KZbin's 'music policies' search engine

Eek, sorry you didn't enjoy Bali. I don't really have a desire to go there either as it just seems way too touristy. If everyone's flocking to a place that for me says AVOID! I'm sure it was beautiful at one point but is not just wayyy over-developed and of course touristy. Gili T however looks stunning! I love crystal clear waters and omg the turtle. Yep! Sadly it's become a victim of over-tourism...you'd be doing yourself a favour by avoiding it in my opinion, which is a shame because I think it probably was great at one point :( I'm glad I went just to form my own opinion and see for myself haha. The Gilis are absolutely unreal, definitely worth a visit along with the rest of Lombok. It's almost certain if you go snorkelling around there you'll see at least one turtle :) along with so many other things. Cheers Ella!

Good message to not touch the turtles.This is how beautiful places are spoiled.I had a mixed feeling about Bali as well 3 years ago.Was my first trip outside of Europe and i wasn't impressed even for a newbie !It was really crowded, the roads were too narrow and in bad condition.I don't know if you mentioned the dirty bitches and locals at temples who try to intimidate you and ask you for money ( at least in 2015) .Of course there are good things also about Bali: temples, food, beautiful people from all around the world.Of course we should see the full part of the glass, but i think many instagramers and youtube channel idealise some destinations, and feels like a shame to show the ugly sides too.I preffer an objective point of view to know when i chose where to spend my time and money.Keep up the good work with objectivity!

Yeah man - I didn't actually know about the not touching turtles thing until after I edited the video, so I decided to add it in because it's important not to encourage that. Completely agree with what you've said. I always try to tell the truth and be honest about my experience, otherwise what's the point? I made a whole video about it because it was that much of a disappointment for me haha. Don't know if you've seen it but kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn6oqnicj6trhtk ...the intro sums up why I hated Bali

Hi Josh, it shows ur dislike of Bali, but what I can say that you stayed at the wrong area of Bali, Iam as a person who has visited Bali since the year of 1974, and still love Bali with all the changes, still you can still see the identity of Bali with all the houses, the smell, the offerings etc which you cannot find it anywhere else, as Bali changes from time to time, it even make it more complete place to visit, you will find anything in a small island like Bali, next time you come to Bali dint stay in Kuta, but in canggu instead, or Ubud or Seminyak where restaurants are more sophisticated than kuta and many good lifestyle places unless you are a person not enjoying lifestyle places than you should go to more primitive places where you would enjoy it more, being alone on the beach, but dont forget that in the coming years where those places in Lombok will be the next Bali from your perspective, Gili T is starting, hope you dont put down Bali as a place not worth visiting, I love Bali as it is and still.

I definitely stayed in the wrong part of Bali for sure. There's not denying it has a problem, it's sad :( I found Canggu and Ubud to be the same to be honest. I'd be happy to come back some day and be proved wrong. And yeah I saw some of the problems are already showing in Gili T...it's a real shame! Thank you for watching this, I appreciate your input

Did you watch? I also went to Ubud and became incredibly frustrated with how difficult it was to get around the island in general. The traffic was truly awful haha. I'm fully aware there's more to it but that wasn't for me this trip. We didn't have the time to stick around and found much better places elsewhere

maybe Lombok is more beautiful than Bali, but about culture, dance and tradition, Bali is more beautiful. If you want to go to Bali, I suggest visiting Ubud, Jatiluwih, Besakih, Uluwatu. If you don't know anything about Bali, don't judge Bali from outside. thank you😯

Hey :) I went to Ubud and although it was nicer, I still didn't enjoy it as much as I hope...too many people and tourists. I'm not judging Bali from the outside, I've been there as this video and my other one shows. I'm just sharing my honest experience and opinion. I wanted to go to a lot of the places you mentioned in your comment but I had to cancel my plans because the traffic was so bad haha

Josh Edwards In the past Bali was very beautiful, but because many tourists came to Bali not only foreigners came to Bali but from all over Indonesia came to Bali. After many people came to Bali many hotels were built, Bali land which was once beautiful was replaced by the hotel looming, traffic is everywhere. thank you😢😐
