As a vet tech I raise my hat to you guys realising what was best for both you and Pepper. Glad you guys found a solution that worked for everyone :) I totally understand you guys being torn over this and anyone who gives you a hard time is heartless tbh ! On a side note I love how you guys are being completely transparent about it and it's what separate you from some KZbinrs who might've done the same but never mention it afterwards, like the dog simply disappears and it's never adressed. P.S. Jason, it takes a strong person to admit when they’ve made a mistake. Kudos to you for doing so, and publicly. That says a lot about your character, and others should follow suit! You know, my husband and I had the best dog ever for 15 years because someone else made the brave decision to admit they made a mistake and find a new home for their dog. We were so grateful to them, because she was exactly what we needed at the time.

When your job is traveling and posting, it seems like a never ending vacation to outsiders, but it’s not in your case. It’s your JOB. So staying home is your vacation. Totally understandable and you deserve a good rest to chill, pursue interests outside traveling, etc. In regard to Pepper, you did what was best for the dog. The most unselfish thing possible. Jason reminds me a lot of my older brother. He gets an idea and he’s gotta do it to see if it works out. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Best advice I ever got is this…”there are no mistakes, only learning experiences.” You learned having a dog doesn’t work for you at this time. No big deal. Good on you for finding her an amazing home. We all love you. No judgement.

You made the decision that is right for the pup and for you. We currently have four dogs that our tenant cares for while we travel. They stay in their own home, and there is no disruption to their routine. By the end of our vacations, we are more than ready to get home to our 'babies'.

Love the cruises, van travel, life updates and general travels. Love the tours of ships, food reviews, where to stay in an area, what to do in a city. (example: you go to Florida, top ten places to see, eat, stay etc) are great too!

What a heartbreaking decision. You loved Pepper and did what was best for her. I have two dogs and traveling is difficult. We got them during covid and would freak if we tried to kennel them. We rent houses when we travel so we can bring them.

I went through the same thing. Our dog Velvet was so smart that i was able to teach her anything. She passed away a couple of years before we moved into town off the farm. We wanted to get another dog, but on the farm she had the run of yhe farm. It was a hard decision to make not to get another dog. We have to travel fo medical appointments and vacations. I did feel it would be fair to get another dog and have to place it in a kennel. Jason you made the right decision. I just know how hard that decision is to make.
