Yes, and it will detect excessive ripple caused by failing diodes.

The unit really needs the ability to skip the battery and/or starter test, like if the vehicle is already running, would be nice to be able to JUST test the charging system.

Wrong from beginning to positive first then negative. Taking off neg then positive.
