It was obvious seeing his childhood pictures that it was a congenital diesease. His eyes are extremely far apart and his nose extremely wide. It baffles me that this man went that long without knowing what was going on

The parents probably didn’t want to admit it was congenital. Not to their son or themselves. Total denial. Probably made up the IUD story….no doctor would call that from an IUD.

Well, cleft palate is from a folic acid deficiency, and you wouldn't be thinking to take prenatal vitamins early in your pregnancy if you have an IUD and assume you can't get pregnant, so I suppose it is indirectly responsible.

If that’s the case, he’s blessed that he didn’t have the entire cleft palate, because that’s extremely difficult to correct and usually takes years of multiple surgeries. There’s different ways to look at it.

I was dealing with increasing migraines in both length and intensity. Doctors blew me off and told me it was being female, it was migraine, etc. I didn’t find out until I was 58 and went to a pain clinic. He asked me a couple of questions and in ten minutes, he verbalized the cause, which turned out to be a rare bone condition that causes my spine to deposit bony pieces all over and hardens my tendons into bone. My spinal canal was extremely narrow as a result and was pushing on my spinal cord. I’ve had 5 surgeries and 57 procedures to control bony growth and pain. I hate when doctors guess or gaslight you. Good luck to him.

WOW-this wasn’t just an improvement-this is a perfect nose! It complements his face beautifully. Plastic surgery has come so far. As someone who suffers from migraines, what an absolute gift this is. David seems like a kind, sensitive soul, and I’m so happy for him! He was handsome before, but must be so much happier and more confident now-and now he can smooch and breath! 😂 Bravo Dr Nassif!

I was definitely wondering if some of his emotional response came from knowing his mother carried that guilt with her unnecessarily for so many years, or possibly even that he held it against her and it strained their relationship. If that really is the case, I hope he's healing from that.

Considering he had a congenital deformity of his nose, I wonder if they did a CT scan or other studies to see if there were other issues, for example, with his palate, sinuses, lips or teeth. The end result is very impressive.

Anyone with common sense and a basic knowledge of the uterus and pregnancy would know that there's no way an IUD would have done that. It's more like what happens to the nose of many with cleft lip/palate issues.

My heart actually broke for this man... I understand his point. He always thought that something - a THING - caused a defect to his nose. In actuality, he had a congenital defect, and he never knew it. I can only imagine how difficult it was in that moment to process such a misdiagnosis. And it would cause anyone to ask the question... If I have this defect, could I have other defects in my body that were missed? I am sure that he went through a roller coaster ride of emotions.

And no one told him in all that time that it’s physiologically impossible for an IUD to do that? I’m a proponent of IUDs and had one for years, and when I got one I found out people believe all kinds of nonsense about them. It’s kind of depressing, because they’re an excellent option for lots of women and misinformation scares too many of them off.

Dude, your mother didn't want children as the IUD says, but she kept you, and raised you well! The defect is minor so I'm having difficulty sympathizing with you. I'd be very thankful you don't have a fully cleft pallet! You now have one of the best noses I've seen on this show so don't ever tear up again because you had a small defect. You're a lucky man so when you, if you get that feeling again of being defective in some way, remember what you have in life, and compare it to others whose medical issues far, far surpass your now fixed defect/nose!✌🗽

Oh sweetie, nooo! You're looking at this the completely wrong way. You're _not defective._ I was recently diagnosed with AuADHD at 50. It was amazing for me to get the correct diagnosis! I know it's not exactly the same thing as you, but it's something even with the diagnosis, can not be corrected, because it's just who I am. It's how my brain was born. I can't _change that_ with _all_ the medication, therapy, or wishful thinking. You, at least, had the opportunity to make a real physical change. I wish you and your loved ones all the best 🫶

I feel this show is so toxic at some points, like labeling patients after their condition, ''Anna, defect nose'' instead of ''Anna, engineer'' and even for the doctors to call ''defect'' in front of a patient, omg, thats so humiliating.
@LiR95
@LiR95 9 ай бұрын
They’re not doing it to degrade or humiliate them, those are medical terms. Their careers have nothing to do with the procedures they need done, so they say those things to better jog their memory for what actually is wrong and what needs to be fixed.

@LiR95 people are not their condition. If someone is depressed, they are not depressive, but someone WITH Depressive Disorder. Thats why it's fucked up to label people after their condition. Even if "defect" it's a medical term, doesnt mean they have to say it front of the patient. The poor guy felt horrible. That's called empathy.
@LiR95
@LiR95 9 ай бұрын
@@anniehaunted I’m as empathetic as they come and I still think you’re being sensitive and grasping at straws. And that’s coming from someone who was born with a defect that needed to be surgically corrected. How is them saying “Anna, defect nose” any different than saying “Anna WITH defect nose”? This is the standard jargon you’d hear in any hospital or any hospital based show. They don’t need to mince words, they’re trying to get to the point and fix what needs to be fixed because that will help the patient way more than niceties. And they were super nice and empathetic to the patient so I really don’t get what your problem or point is.
