Dave goes on a several hundred km adventure in order to completely destroy the Fluke 28-II multimeter. Short of blowing it up with explosives, will he succeed, or will it live to measure another day?

Is this the video that earned him the title of the Crazy Aussie Bloke? Just bring a high end multi meter with him while repelling down a waterfall. You can't make that up. I would love to know exactly how thrilled Fluke was to see it go through all that relatively unscathed.

This was completely entertaining! Hilarious. Why engineer it when you can overengineer it? Fantastic. Thank you Dave for confirming to all of us that Fluke meters are bomb-proof! I was worried that I might have issues using the meter while mountainbiking. Now I can rest assured. Great video, Dave! :)

Funny that you say the only problem is the inductor... you dropped it from 4 times what it's rated before it sheared! Then 10 times! A sheared inductor sounds like cake! This is my next meter, won't have to worry about the kids getting to it. Note if we can get Dell, Samsung, Apple, etc to take a page out of this book... imagine a Galaxy S3 at 30 meters!

@Intosia They do. Casio GzOne Commando C771. Although sand and water won't get in, not enough light gets out in the desert. You can't see the screen in bright sunlight. I did use it to take pictures and make phone calls from a dam, but didn't drop it over the dam.

Wow. That meter is indestructible. Have you soldered a new inductor and changed out the LCD after the 30m drop? That's awesome.
@sarowie12 жыл бұрын
Fluke does have a strong believe in their product, when they give you a product to kill it. I mean: It was obvious that you will crack it open and look at the insides for the least (some companies wouldn't like that to begin with). That you will put the specs into test... not that obvious but: You totally mistreated it and only two parts failed: Nice for a multimeter that sits most days on a boring lab table :-)

I think Fluke uses "special" plastic that will never crack. other companies just use cheap plastic and as soon as you drop them...they crack like an egg. Hats off to Fluke for giving us Quality multimeters.

Dropping things on the floor wearing only flipflops? Health and safety does not approve! Also, a meter like that surely deserves a waterproof manual to go with it. How do Fluke expect you to measure at the bottom of a canyon if you can't look up a setting you've forgotten?

take the m5 did you? I'm in the hurstville region
@martinkuliza8 жыл бұрын
No actually even that tunnel looks like M5, if you notice the street layout when he exits the tunnel mate. i don't think it is it's likely based on the last 900 videos and drive by rants we've seen dave lives around North West sydney, around Windsor Road Area so.. that BUS IS ROUTE 143 which Manly to Chatswood via st leonards, again, makes sense that he would northish so around Epping Rd or Maybe close to boundary road but not north of boundary road so.. if your in that area and you want to go to the mountains you take either Pennant Hills road then Cumberland Hwy then right on Great Western Highway or if you don't care about toll charges then from north, you'd go M2 which is where i think he was M2 become M7 and then from there the only logical path is M7, then Turn right into M4 and head to the mountains i reckon you saw him in the M2, if it was the M5, go to 0:43 Notice how when he comes out THERE IS NO AIRPORT ON THE RIGHT SIDE, instead..... TREES when you head away from the city on the M5 Airport is on your right side, you go under the runway then you go through the tunnel when you exit the tunnel, First exit on the right is ROCKDALE exit that goes to san souci then about a few km's later on your left is King Georges road as you know this was not the rockdale exit it's likely he's on the M2 Cross city tunnel has a similar tunnel, but the direction doesn't make sense because if dave went from chatswood or there abouts via CCT then M5 he'd still have to go right onto M7 and left onto M4 doesn't make sense it's likely M2 to M7 to M4 to Mountains what are we doing anyway are we trying to stalk dave here or what hehe you know how you have that game. WHERE'S WALDO or whatever it's called let's do WHERE DAVE :P oh hang on, there's a street sign, i know that so.. dave must be...... hehe Daves gonna get an AVO out on us.... Just wait and see
