Eevee Mystery Plushie "WHO are YOU?" (Pokémon Scruff-a-Luvs) unboxing and review

Today we're unboxing and washing an Eevee plushie from the WHO are YOU? Japanese Scruff-a-Luvs brand! The plushie comes as a tightly-packed ball and must be washed before it unfolds and reveals which of three plushies you received. Pikachu has also been released as a Pokémon Scruff-a-Luvs plushie in Japan.

Definitely agree it doesn't feel like a display item, but it looks like a fun toy and good to have on a bed. I don't know if they'll make any other ones since Pikachu and Eevee are the two "main" mascots but it would be fun to see any new designs

Nice video on this! Just' heard of these and they indeed seem like a really neat idea for certain audiences! Kids like you mentioned of course, but also people who like to collect and care for plush. ...Or maybe just likes the plush design in general, lol! I got really curious as to how you are supposed to set these up and found a video by the Moose Toys KZbin channel titled "How to Wash Scruff-a-Luv". The two things you didn't know about here is that apparently you need to wash it with kid's shampoo after the unballing/unegging and shake it drier after the squeezing. Well... you can probably use any shampoo so you could have an axe-scented Eevee or something. (My recommendation for creativity: Some soap scent that matches the berries you get. In this case: Peach or Orange.) But they probably gave that recommendation since it's gentler for kids and not because it's some formula that breaks down the glue (or whatever it is) better. That being said, it's possible it would have come out fluffier as maybe some of the glue is left over. Or not as maybe it just looks a bit ragged because it's still damp when you finished the review. As for if others have different berries, I checked Pikachu unboxings for this (Your's is the only Eevee one I can find. Edit: I found others using other search terms after all and they had other berries too) and they indeed had difference berries in each. So they are likely another surprise randomizer. Something I thought of that could be more long-term for this is that it was designed to be washable while other plush are generally spot-clean. Given that kids get into all sorts of messes, you can imagine the plush would too. So after a while they can rewash and sort of "reset" the whole care process or maybe do it just because they like the process. Edit 2: I forgot to mention which one I liked better (from your ending question) and the Eevee takes the cake for me as it looks way better to my eye.

This video convinced me to buy one of these myself! Thank you for sharing how to reveal your new Eevee friend! I'm honestly shocked & surprised that this isn't around overseas, especially in the US... because I am POSITIVE that it would make so much profit from both kids AND adults. Also, I think yours IS the female Eevee! It seems like only the "eyes closed, very happy" Eevee is female, so you got lucky! And with the berries, it says that it can come with 2 or 3 berries, so maybe there are other types of berries than Pecha & Oran...?

I'm really curious to see exactly how the female tail looks.. I'm actually just going by the pictures on the back of the box at the top which have the genders noted 1:22 Seems like winking one is the female. I hope yours turns out well, if you remember please tag me on Twitter so I can see!

I'd love to see what it looks like blow-dried. All of the Eevee plushies look pretty scruffy from what I've seen so far, but I saw someone on Instagram do the really long version of drying with the hairdryer and fluffing with the Pikachu one and they gave off really soft vibes - think the fluffy hugging collection. Didn't look scruffy at all so I'm wondering is it just the styling, or did they change the quality for the Eevee one

Maybe I should try re-washing in warmer water and combing out -- I will be the first to admit that some of the end result may have been my own process which was more geared towards KZbin than a perfect end result. there are female eevees that have the size zag fur design instead of the heart design, remember Serenas Eevee from XY? That one was female they introduced the different gender designs in Pokémon journeys with Chloes Eevee meaning every Female Eevee seen previously in the anime had the zigzag fur design❤️

Hi Gray, thanks for watching! You can actually see at 1:19 the official genders of each variation listed at the top of the box オス (osu) is male and メス (mesu) is female. Only the winking one is female :)
