Honestly the clothes thing is debatable. A lot of the dolls ARE named after what they are sewn from. Like Candle Slice O' Cake is sewn from a piece of cake, and Storm E. Cloud is sewn from wisps of a rain cloud. Some don't have that like Jewel Sparkles is sewn from a real princess dress. So her name isn't, well, Princess Dress. And Mittens Fluff N Stuff is sewn from a scarf and not mittens. For some reason.
@KeatonChandelier Жыл бұрын
in my opinion, it wasn't uncommon for doll brands to base dolls on irl cultures/ethnicities back then. the problem with dolls like Mango, Yuki, Feather, & Sahara from lalaloopsy is simply the fact that they are heavily stereotyped. the names and in some cases the designs are stereotypes of their respective cultures/ethnicities. ofc this wasn't done maliciously, and these dolls are still some of my favorites to this day! but it's important to acknowledge how designing dolls/characters like this in the future, could be harmful, and isn't the best way to represent those people irl. 🫶
@aromaladyellie Жыл бұрын
I mean they could have named Jewel Sparkles Princess Glitter deGown and it would have been fine imo.
@luckybug479 Жыл бұрын

I played with lalaloopsy a lot as a kid. I vividly remember getting a lalaloopsy mini for a secret santa at school, watching the show, and my sister even used it to convince me to watch coraline. I think I even played a game, too. It's really cool to see you decided to do a video on this!

My favorite toys will always be Monster High Dolls, but I used to have a Crumbs Sugar Cookie doll. She was awesome.

10:26 in 2017 when the new show came out they released new dolls. These dolls had real nylon hair,no floppy limbs, no sew on cheeks. And did not look like Lalaloopsy. It was stupid and ugly

Man, I never thought Lalaloopsies were creepy, I’ve always thought they looked cute and always wanted one and my favorite was Mittens Fluff n’ Stuff. I never got an actual one, sadly.. Only a soft plush version of her which wasn’t fun to play with at all for me as a kid :( Either way, I’ve always missed this franchise, I always thought the concept was super unique and cool. It made me think of Kirby’s epic yarn and I loved playing their online game too

I only ever had blossom flowerpot but I adored her. I loved how heavy she was, it made her feel more 'real' when I held her and carried her around, and she was much easier to keep clean than any cloth doll

I remember enjoying the cartoon when I was younger. My brain just understood 2011 since it's 2023. That was a long time ago. I was doing something community College stuff at the time so no wonder I thought I was still a kid because of some down time before class started I could watch nickelodeon.

i was literally obsessed with Lalaloopsy and so was my mum. we were better off financially when I was younger, so I had a fair number of big dolls, littles and LIKE EVERY MINI. just a stupid number of minis (i had the tree house :3). it was unfortunate that the series didn't take off until later cause i was just a little too old for the demographic they were appealing to. I wish they committed to the high school fashion doll thing so the content could have aged with me :/. still super love them though

I remember I had one ever lalaloopsy and she was the one with curly pink hair and I was OBSESSED with it and after getting one I also watched the cartoon that’s on Netflix I think . I remembered watching it while playing with my lalaloopsy at my grandma’s house. I think it’s still there just in a dusty old closet also with my older cousin’s Justin Bieber doll and my old Anna doll💀. I think I also had one of the baby dolls but I think my grandma threw it away

I got a lalaloopsie doll after a arm surgery. I was so disappointed about the head being so heavy especially since I was a very clumsy kid and kept hitting my cast with its head 💀

I used to LOVE these as a kid. I had the movie as a DVD and I would watch it all the time! It's really a bummer that this franchise didn't get the recognition it deserved, it was so different and creative in many ways.

A great tip on how I display mine is I have those grid racks that you can turn into shelves and I have some hooks so that I can put a hair tie around them and put the hook through and hang them up on the wall. It is the only way I have found to successfully display them. No doll stand works that I can find that they don’t flop over because they’re so top-heavy.

i agree that the highschool variation was weird and deviated too far from the original idea, i liked lalaloopsy because it was one of the few doll lines where fashion wasn't the main focus (it did play a part but the characters weren't all fashion obsessed like a lot of dolls were), and the characters were a bit younger like i was when i was into them, and then they just kinda went "what if we did the thing everyone else does?" and then yassified the ragdolls lmao also it's so weird they changed dot to just be the smart one who spouts big science words when they already had bea spells-a-lot for that role (i am way too invested in this lol) when i was younger my favorites were mittens (i'm pretty sure just because her hair was blue which was my favorite color at the time lmao) and crumbs, but now i think my favorites would be pillow (she's such a mood), spot and storm e. also there were two characters who were farmers named sunny side up and berry jars n jam and i think either of them could be the equivalent of applejack, and i know way too much about this doll series i haven't thought about in ages lmao

The dolls were honestly really great, they have so many dolls and there all unique. I collect the mini ones and I have over 100. The little ones have sculpted on clothes but there so pretty, I also love the amount of details on each dolls hair like the Fruit collection where each hair resembles the fruit the dolls represents, or the jewelry collection where their outfits looks like gemstones and they have earrings, and the fairy collection where there each from a different season. It’s actually really sad because the doll community never talks about these dolls, like they talk so much about franchises like Ever After High, Monster High (before g3), Bratts, Winx Dolls, and so many other discontinued doll lines but never Lalaloopsy even though the dolls were adorable, super high quality, and their entire world building is so interesting

They didn't end in 2014 they went on a hiatus in 2016 and then the reboot came out, storm E didn't come out in 2017 she was released alongside the lalaloopsy girls dolls, also your comparison of lalaloopsy to my little pony is inaccurate seeing as both lalaloopsy and my little pony friendship is magic were both released it 2010, although most of the video was pretty good plases do your research and maybe talk to some of the fans next time if you cover lalaloopsy again 💕

I never knew it had so many shows and things! I had a couple of the bigger dolls and a bunch of the little sisters. The weight and grooves in the designs made me so happy, i loved tracing all the swirls. They were just really cute and i loved them, i had the ice cream haired girl first!

The way i got to first know about Lalaloopsy was through my old best friend's little sister (in the sense that he was my best friend in the past) I also remember one episode from the cartoon that there was a mime character who had a invisible friend So the rest of the episode was about the other lalaloopsies helping the mime character finding her best friend ...also your shirt is so SLAY (i especially love the ziper with the big ring)
