Hi! Great video. Could you tell if there were any rules for going out from the EF campus? (To the city center, for example). Also, were there any rules about when to go back to dormitory?
@CarolinaCorijn7 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks 🤗 Depends on your age: if you’re 18 or above, you’re free to go and do whatever you want. If you’re 17, you’ll have a curfew at 11 pm. This means you can still go to the city, but you’ll have to be back in your building at 11 pm. I know that for 16 and younger the curfew is 10 pm, but I don’t exactly know the rules about going to other cities/states (maybe your parents need to give permission?). No matter your age tho: everyone can have an amazing time! I hope this answers your question :)

hi, i have a question, did you have a shower in your room or is it separate? because i’m going to NY in july 2025, and i really wanna know about that 😅
@CarolinaCorijnАй бұрын
Hii 🤗 First of all: that is amazing, I hope you will have the best time ever !! So in general the showe situation is as you can see in this campus tour video: a room/hall in the hallway with a few showers, so separate from your (bed)room. However, at least in the building I was staying (Gerard), there were some floors where it was different: a bathroom between 2 rooms. So your room had its own bathroom that you share with your neighbors/room next to you. I hope this answers your question/makes the shower situation more clear! Please let me know if not or if you want me to go into details (or if you have other questions of course) 😊

Hi, are there fully equipped kitchens in the dorms buildings? 14:32

The buildings do have kitchens that you can use, at least most of them. You’ll probably need to go to a supermarket to buy ingredients or something 😊

hi l'have a question l'would like to applyn ef academy because l'am so interrest for ibdp program l'am dyspraxia Is this possible I would like to do an exchange year in the USA before applying for EF Academy
@CarolinaCorijn2 ай бұрын
Hi! Unfortunately I don’t know anything about EF Academy, nor the programs that they offer, as I went to the EF campus in Tarrytown. However, I do know that an exchange with EF is possible whenever! EF and EF Academy is the same organization, so this is something that can definitely be discussed! I would suggest to get into contact with the EF office of your homecountry to discuss all your doubts 😊

Seeing this blue floor in rita hall makes me feel nostalgic even though the food was...let's just say it was "different"
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
Hahahahaa yes !
@madta2296 Жыл бұрын
how the food was ?
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
@@madta2296 I feel like almost everyone will say it’s bad, and that it’s kinda an inside joke between us ef students, but I see it a bit different: as it is an American college type of thing you should not expect a 5 star meal in the first place like it’s gonna be American college cafeteria food. Breakfast and dinner is included in the price, so it’s something you don’t need to think about (like you have free cooked food in front of you every day). It’s a buffet kinda thing which changes every day, so just get what you like most. If you don’t like anything, you can always go to one of the amazing restaurants nearby. :)
@madta2296 Жыл бұрын
@@CarolinaCorijn oh okayyyyy because when I saw other videos I was thinking that was REALLY bad 😅😅thxxxx
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
@@madta2296 yeah the problem is people come with pretty high expectations I guess as you’re paying a lot, but I already knew what was waiting 😅 I mean it makes sense like they need to cook for thousands of students every day so yeah. I don’t know how it is with other EF locations, but overall I just thinks be grateful and if you don’t like anything just go to a restaurant like they have amazing restaurants in Tarrytown (and obviously New York)!

Also, is there a gym?
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
Yes ! Towards the end you’ll see the sport facilities this campus has, and around 18:10 the gym. It might not be big or much, but it is something ! The other sport facilities are nice too and there’s always something to do or something organized (like a volleyball or basketball game/match in the hall on the main floor or a yoga or zumba class in the dance studio. The sportsbuilding of this campus has a lot to offer and I loved being here 😊
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
I want to add that there is a gym in Tarrytown (so the village where this campus is located). But obviously there’s a payment required. Unfortunately I don’t know the ins and outs (like how much you’ll have to pay or if you need a monthly/weekly plan or whatever) as I found the free sportsbuilding on campus enough, but I know some people from campus went to this gym and paid as they found the gym specifically on campus not good enough for their training.

Can I apply for EF if I'm 15 years old?
@CarolinaCorijnАй бұрын
Yes, you can !! 😄 EF offers different kinds of programs for different age groups, you can look up more info on the website or contact the EF office of you home country 😊 When I was at EF New York, the youngest student I’ve met was 13 years old (and the oldest above 50)! It’s safe to say that the average age is like 18, but there are people from all different ages.

@@Chwesiee unfortunately I don’t know anything about the boarding school. I advice to contact the EF office of your homecountry: you can ask them anything freely and/or they can help you to get in touch with a student who is/was there to share their experience 😊 I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, but I hope this advice will bring you closer to answers!

Does anyone know how much i pay for 3 weeks in nyc .im from germany
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
That should be around 3000$ (as it is a thousand dollars a week I thought). These are the costs you’ll have to pay to EF. (I know someone who’s going for 4 weeks and his offer was 3800€). Prices can differ a bit (think about discounts and the course from dollars to euro). However, to have an exact price you should contact EF 😊 Keep in mind that more costs will come like the costs for a visa and a flight.
@CarolinaCorijn Жыл бұрын
One tip: sometimes they have discounts or something else (like a free flight or activity credits), so look out for that!
