@@THEFULLERFANATIC Can you briefly explain what ''shaving'' the micatra entails/how to do it ?

juST taking it down a bit under running water and with sand paper like 400, then 8 then I do a super fine grain to smooth it over maybe 1,500 at most.. I often use acetone with the 400 then go into water just be careful not to reduce it at all around the pivot, stop pin, or screw hole areas or they wont be flush

It's a good looking knife. I like the idea of getting it as a project to practice mods. Great video 👍

Cool video and interesting topic. Reworking a cheap knifer to fix flaws seems fun. Earned a sub here.

Can you elaborate on what you did to the Bering surface on the blade?

did a rough stone washing with drill bits and wood screws, I wanted more of a deep divot look, a smoother medium would result in less marks and contrast.

Your videos kill man👏. I think I will just stick with the original design and made in America 🇺🇸 DOC. Somethings are worth the money

How did you achieve the two-tone dye job? I’m not familiar with dying G 10 but it seems like it would all be the same color. Very curious….
@THEFULLERFANATIC

the contouring of G10 will make layers or its grain pattern stick out.. or become more visible.. so it was really the shape milled into the g10 the dye just revealed the grain within the g10, but it was a light dying.. If I left it in the dye a longer period of time it would be more of a solid color.

Microtech isn't worth it. They are just show knives. The heat treatment is pretty poorly done. Check out the testing done on them and the excuses microtech gave for them. Premium materials and build but lack the value in ht.

Definitely a clone.. why would anyone one wanna modify a clone.. you did a great job on for sure makings cool knife out of it.. pretty cool 😎 video indeed .. but clones should be killed with fire in a furnace in my opinion. If ppl can manage to manufacture a folder.. why not take the time to draw ✍️ your own design.. ? It doesn’t take much to make something you’re own.

He didn't want it to look like the rest of the clones LMAO... idk I think honestly he just loves it.. but I was gonna make a part about what you spoke on in the video, if the company put that much into this knife the could put a bit more into their very own design and have something pretty decent, but none the less their very own.
