I was checking to see if anyone else has done this, and found this video. I just swapped blades on my fire tacs, a stonewashed spanto blade, on stonewash ti, and grey/black g-10, in place of a working finish recurve on a full ti, battle blue handle. It worked perfect. The only thing i skipped doing was swapping the lock bar insert. I was prepared to do it in case it didn’t work for some reason, but it wasn’t necessary. Solid lock up, no play or lock rock. It locks up exactly where it does with the blades in their original handle configuration. I love Hinderer’s, the fit, finish, and consistency in manufacture is proven to be spot on with this blade swap. Since I love this configuration, stonewash spanto on battle blue, full ti, I think I’ll keep it this way. Good vid.

I’ve recently come to remember why I love my old xm-18 that I’ve customized a lot with a full flat regrind on a slicer blade in battle black with the custom aftermarket starburst milled titanium purple and green ano show side scale and all green hard ware on a battle black frame. I’ve had it since pre corona virus shut down. I just recently installed skiff thick pb washers and it’s so dang smooth and rock solid ready for me to go to work again. I miss this one.

The sharpening choil looks $hit from what I can see. It is stunning though and perhaps almost all of them will never be sharpened much or again so it doesn't matter.

Thank you so much for providing such a clear and concise insight into the work you did on this knife. Not to mention the honest review and admission of initial bias. I just purchased one and this video solidified my decision to do so. I also like to do rit dye projects and will be attempting something new with this one. I plan on dying it a lighter secondary color, using my wife’s nail polish to paint a design on the scales once they have been dyed, then dying them black. After I will remove the nail polish remover and it should prevent the black dye from dying the covered portions thus leaving behind a colored design contrasted by the black backdrop.

So I wanna buy a BBK Raptor EDC Foundry model. It has a pvd coated clip and pivot collars. I can take the pvd off with Whinks?
