@@samdurfee6093 Yup. Freddy's Nightmares. It was... a thing. It was an anthology series that took place in Springwood. Springwood was an Eldritch Location that just had a lot of weird things in it, irrespective of Freddy Kruger. The stories ranged from decent to abysmal. The biggest problem with it was the budget wasn't even up the level of a shoestring. Still, the stories that featured Freddy were usually amongst the better ones (the infamous Safe Sex episode is usually thought to be pretty good if rather anemic because of the budget). Robert Englund in Freddy makeup would do the intro and outro of every episode. So that was neat to see him ham it up. I have a distinct memory of one episode being an increasingly frazzled real estate agent desperately trying to sell all the myriad of murder houses in Springwood and eventually having a nervous breakdown.

If I remember right, the reason that Freddy is able to manipulate and blur the line between reality and dreams to this extent is because he got some of Kristen's ability to draw people into a dream when she passed it over to Alice (and through him). He was able to make Alice fall into a microsleep through her daydreams and used her to bring in her friends. And now he's doing the same thing with the baby by giving him knowledge of Alice's new friends so he can bring them to Freddy (I think through microsleep for them as well) to kill them and feed the baby for his own soul to be reborn. It's insane and absurd, but it is a more interesting plot than what is coming next.

Here's one interpretation on the ending or least how it saw it. Freddy having piggybacked on the soul of Alice's baby to be reborn in the nightmare. He then forced fed baby tortured souls to manipulate growth negatively. Having reached the desired level of manipulation he forcibly removes himself from Alice as she was a primary host and to then inhabit the child. The child resist and this gives Amanda the opportunity to contain the weakened reborn Freddy soul. Albeit with difficulty and futility as there is another movie. Without Freddy's influence the baby soul returns to normal and thus movie comes to a close.

@@ghoulsome9483 And from the very beginning , it is definitely showed that freddy a dream demon when he does , his attacks has some form of effect upon the real world. A loose barrier between the dream and physical world. Which Allows them to interact. Freddy was mostly limited they must be in their dreams to be able to make contact. With the introduction of a dreammaster obviously must be a human being that possesses the ability to manipulate the barrier of the Planes of existence. So freddy a dream demon that obviously has a huge amount of exceptions is using somebody that is weakening the barriers between the two plans of existence 🤔 And no this is not me writing the story. This is me inferring because the statement the movies. This is no different than the lord of The rings magic system unexplained how the magic works i don't see you going but how does the ring influence people. Statements are made and things are happening with a bit of cause and effect

You guys keep bringing up Marge Thompson, she wasn't killed by Freddy. In the 3rd Movie, it's directly said that after the event of the first moment, she couldn't handle what all had happened and killed herself in the living room of her house.

@SpartyCubsFan what was the real ending? Ive only seen thr theatrical. But in the 3rd, they specifically said she committed suicide.

The title of this movie hits differently when you consider why Freddy got permanently cancelled.

The main character of this movie, Alice, is played by Lisa Wilcox. Most recently, Lisa Wilcox was on a game show with her son called Milf Manor. Maybe you guys heard of it.

I mean as much as we joke about the dog pissing scene, it at least has solid logic to it. at the end of 3, They beat Freddy by giving him an actual proper burial (splashing him with holy water and burying him). The dog pissing on the grave was desecrating it meaning the spirit rises back, still doesn’t really explain how they could do all that in the dream but still less confusing than this

I am amazed that no one asked where the damn dog from the last movie is? I know that desecrating the holy ground freddy was buried in brought freddy back, but that the dog pissing on it IN A DREAM does the same shit and no one explains anything is wild

Well, dreams aren’t logical, reasonable or coherent and no you don’t have agency in your dreams. You are literally in the movie theater of your brain watching your dream on the big screen. Also Freddy is the one influencing them to fall asleep. Driving, lifting weights, showering. Etc. And the reason they don’t have consistency as to beat Freddy in the dreams is because they didn’t work. Not being afraid didn’t work in the first movie as indicated by Freddy’s sweater as the roof of the car. Freddy’s too strong for all that.
