55:50 Part of the reason why I defend a system like Steam is because I find it works much better for reviews from the average person than a number. A critic should put thought into their rating and their rating should be complex as a result. The average viewer has 0 insight to offer because the put 0 thought into it. Thus I prefer them to just give a binary answer... and it seems like it works. I'm reading a lot of manga and the number scores for those are basically useless. My ratings are generally between 3 and 5 (I generally ignore art. If I was to include it, I would probably bump those scores up by 0 - 2) Average rating for things is between 6 and 10. I''ve seen stuff that has basically nothing happening except fights all day long and people rate it 8+ when my rating is 3/10 because the plot is bending over backwards to make it happen and there's nothing deep about the fights - it's just basic anime tropes. Also the fact that 6+ is the minmimum score for things that are just gore/porn with a coat of paint

1:22:05 Roger Ebert also said Reign of Fire, an apocalypse movie, was humorless. I'm sorry, was it supposed to be?!

I never got the love for Ebert. He had such an ego and it seemed like he never agreed with anyone, like he'd look at what other critics thought, what audiences thought, and give a different answer than each. Plus he had a tendency to just hate movies of certain genres or with certain elements and act like, well, obviously those are bad to everyone, despite those movies making money time and again. I guess he popularized movie criticism as entertainment itself and brought it ot the masses more, maybe, but as an actual critic, I don't think it's very good. Then he actually made a movie that had a ton of things he claimed to hate in it, which was bonkers as well.

As someone who likes his potatoes steamed, soft fries taste like actual potato _way_ more than the hard ones. Also, they suck up sauce. My local kebab place uses this great sauce on the meat, and some of it mixes with the fat and flows down into the soft fries underneath, it's downright sublime. But if we're talking finger food, hard fries all the way.

Just thought of a potentially good story concept for harley quin Formerly abused by a partner, psychology major, gets a job at an insane asylum in order to move up the ladder, uses her work as a form of distancing and coping for herself after what shes experienced, keeping herself from coming to terms with it unknowingly Story has therapy visits over time to get her mental state as the story progresses, she starts off falsely ok, running from her issues and pretending everythings fine, as time goes on she destabilizes but seems happier because shes, in a twisted way, coming to terms with what happened to her Her assigned patient at work is the joker, though we dont know that as of yet, and its before he became a big criminal to help justify, they could say he committed petty crimes and seemed unwell, but he seems strangely lucid and even strikes up friendly banter with her during check ups As the appointments go on he gets her to start opening up, with lighthearted comedy that brightens her face and opening up about issues (true or not) that she relates to and understands, while talking about the best way to live their lives while they got it The basic deal basically being, joker sees her as a way out at first, but as he gets to know her he starts feeling a fondness for her company and pity for her circumstances Long story concept short, joker embelishes her unhealthy habits in regards to her trauma but does so with a genuine care towards her rather than just using her in her vulnerable state Like someone with slave trauma and joker acting as a new master which enforces that trauma, but a kind and caring master Its ultimately unhealthy, as would be expected, but it shows that, in a fucked up way, they give a shit about each other Could serve as a story about seeking help that seems right, but ultimately makes things worse, with the joker and therapist acting as opposing answers, one is healthier but makes her unhappy, while the other is unhealthy but she feels "happier" This tackles multiple harley quinn ideas, joker cares, its abusive, harleys damaged, batman would eventually have reason to sympathize and want to help her because of this, several harley stories rolled into one groundwork story Hell, the abusive ex could be male or female, it ultimately wouldnt impact the story because the gender wouldnt matter, the abuse does This was a just an idea but im curious if anyone would take up the idea

Fun fact. Even in torrential downpour, You'll still have perceptible vision of objects and shapes. Just not finer details up to several feet away. At most everything will just be wet and blurry, but you'd still see the whole group of the squad in even the heaviest rain.

On the rain thing: more often than not, rain comes from clouds. Heavy rain comes from thick, dark clouds (because that's how density works). So, the chances of it being blindingly white in heavy rain are really low for obvious reasons.
