Got a saw on loan to evaluate. Not certain they will be happy when it returns! BUT it was a change of pace and a pleasant surprise actually. Priced right with upper end Home Owner saws, Lower end of "Land Owner" saws; its in a tough crowd. Is it out of its league? Maybe , Maybe not. One thing I can say is there is a lot of potential in that saw. What do I mean?? Have to watch to see...:)

Thanks for this video. I was wondering about these saws and there really is very little about them in English.

Hi Walt. Love your videos. I'm just a saw repairer from across the pond. Those little 'goofy' tabs are to prevent dirt and sawdust getting into the heads of the muffler bolts, so you can get the driver in without stripping the head. Keep up the good work. I work for a husqy and stihl dealer here in the UK.

Good morning Walt. I bought a MT 7200 a couple of years ago. I have bought and used several Husky 272 over the years and really like them. I bought the MT 7200 over the Husky 272 because it was about $200 cheaper and it came with a five year warranty. Mine is stock and pulls a 24" bar good. Have had it for two years with no problems But like I said mine is completely stock. Hope this brings some information others might like to read about. As always a great vid Walt.

Looks a LOT like an Oleo-Mac. They have quite a good reputation if you arent going Husky or Stihl price wise. Very large Italian manufacturer.

It was a pleasant surprise for a sub $400 dollar saw.. Looks like a lot of their offerings won't be sold here, just the "epa" models.

nigel Mc Hugh it is an oleo mac here in Australia That model there is a 952 oleo mac and I’ve worked on them before, I also agree with afleetcommand there a surprisingly good saw and feel really quite refined to use. In this price range I would buy one over the other two major brands
@afleetcommand

Going to find out if those 952's have parts availability here....they also have really cut back on the number of saw models they offer. The 8200 is of interest but its no longer available after current stock is sold. They have a 6500....not really impressed with the "paper" specs, but might grab one to see if it will perk up.

I have an Oleo-Mac strimmer (brush cutter) here in Ireland for the last 20 years. A 740 model. I think its 40cc. Its been very reliable, easy started andjust keeps going. The majority of small 2 strokes die because of either not enough 2 stroke in the mixture, or too much causing carbon build-up and eventually a piece breaks off and scores the cylinder.Also, you can see resemblances to Husky's in the build, so the designers probably say to themselves " why re-invent the wheel, we'll just take some of what we like from the other makers and run with it".

Did you do this base gasket delete with new rings or the original ones? First time I've seen one of these saws except on a store shelf, it's really interesting how it's manufactured and assembled.

afleetcommand I was thinking of buying a Efco mt8200 82cc and it says you can put a 28" on it, but I was also thinking of getting a huztl farmertec ms660 kit what do you think ?
@afleetcommand
@afleetcommand 7 жыл бұрын
If it's an "either or" and your saws are part of your livelihood, always go OEM. Those 8200's have a good reputation for reliability. Not quite "Stihl" or "Husqvarna" expensive. The Kit saws really are for fun & games. With a lot of time and subbing in OEM parts can approach OEM capability, but for a business is it worth the time? Just get an 661 or similar saw. If you want to learn about saws and explore modifications...thats where the kit saws make sense. Can do a lot without investing and hurting an expensive OEM saw. I have had a lot of fun with mine, but I got them with the right expectation level.
