I agree with much of what has been discussed regarding the history of Europe and American and colonization of Africa, South America, middle east and Asia in the past. Europe has colonized and exploited Africa, South America, middle east and Asia for a long time. That era is coming to an end as America and Europe is declining and China and Russia is on the rise and has been filling the power vacuum especially after 2000. With the belt and road China has colonize and bought many resources in Africa. Russia also has been extending its influence in central Asia. China and Russia will dominate the world. Africa is richest in resources than almost any continent is now being used once again by different players. This great game is changing. Understanding the past era of colonialism will chart the course for Africa's future. The great game is changing and Africans must unite to help one another to avoid a new colonial period under different players. To move forward forgive the past and look to the future. Africa has now come so far but more needs to be done.

I love listening to Shivambu. He is a skilled African politician. The Russians must be contributing to his next election or sending him caviar. Forget about colonization in Africa and look at the European situation. Shivambu needs to understand that he is a supporter of one of the world’s worst modern day aggressive colonizers. Imagine having them on South Africa’s border? Russia and the German Nazis signed a pact before world war 2. They both invaded Poland and started world war 2. A bit later Hitler invaded Russia, having already occupied other countries of Eastern Europe. The Russians then became allies of the western alliance and fought against the Germans. Russia then beat back the Germans from the east and occupied the countries as they progressed. They occupied east Germany, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, checkoslovakia, Hungary, Romani and Moldova. At the end of the war they installed communist regimes in place and called themselves the Warsaw Pact countries. Russia included the republics Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Chechnya, Kazakhstan, as the Soviet Union. All this was managed from the Kremlin. They suppressed democracy in those countries for 50 years and put Russian people there. They occupied Kazakhstan and used it territory to develop and test nuclear bombs. They acted against NATO countries by promoting insurgence all over the world, training people in Russia and arming them. They invaded and occupied Afghanistan for 10 years. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990 it reverted to its states. There was a treaty that guaranteed land borders and peace. But alas Russia soon didn’t like it and invaded and occupied Georgia, Moldova and Kazakhstan. They invaded Ukraine, supported an insurrection in the east and annexed Crimea. They still occupy Kaliningrad from world war 2 which belonged to Poland. NATO was set up by the western countries to counter this arrangement of Russia. Mr Shivambu should be asking the. Question as to why all Russia’s neighbours want to join The European community and NATO? Doesn’t the story tell you why. So after that bit of history all Mr Shivambu can say is that he supports Russia because they didn’t colonize Africa. He doesn’t care if they are wrong. That’s why I wouldn’t vote for him.

As a freedom fighter I agree with you 💯 Floyd Chivambo. The Soviet Union helped to liberate a lot of African countries and the USA and UK who are the major destabilisers of world peace continue with their heartless activities. They have a bad dream of having their hands on Russia’s national resources and that won’t happen. We need to stand guard defend ourselves with the modern air defence systems available in the market like the S400 and S500. If we don’t they’re coming back for us. After what happened to Gaddafi it didn’t take a long time for Algeria to acquire those systems. EFF and the true combatants please tell Ramaphosa to act soon.
