Changing the way we approach high school education is no easy task, especially when it includes the idea of throwing out textbooks. Congratulations to Jodie Parsons and Yvonne Reilly on your TEDx talk. The world needs more teachers like you. As a previous student of Sunshine College, I'm glad these students are receiving the attention they deserve.

This is a great example of why differentiation is important! Much like her cricket example, my students are all over the place with honing their design skills in Pixlr. Allowing students the opportunity to be pushed at a level that fits their needs is of great importance. I always try to push those high achieving design student's work further, while allowing those on the lower end to focus on fundamentals.

Inspirational teachers! In school I struggled with maths and dropped it as a subject as soon as possible, but I learned as an adult that actually I could do maths. I wish I'd had these two teaching me, things would have been different and I think I would have actually enjoyed maths instead of automatically thinking I was too dumb to understand and therefore not actually trying. All schools, all subjects, should operate like this!

I was lucky enough to do relief teaching at Sunshine and the Maths teachers and classes were inspiring and engaging.I wish I had them as my maths teacher when I was at school :)
