I stopped eating processed food and sugar and started to ride my bike a few times a week. I've lost 40 pounds since November 2019 and my psoriasis is almost gone. I had it moderately on my knees and back of head. I also stopped smoking cigarettes a year ago as well, which I think helped too...

Dr. Jennifer, I'm 86 years old, Singaporean Chinese, I don't smoke and drink, don't medications of any kind even panadol, don't take sugar or frutose. As an active sportsman and weight training, I take creatine and whey protein powder in addition to my protein from diet. In 2020, I fell down and suffered muscle atrophy on my right arm in particular my big bicep. Subsequently, I suffered what they called it plaque psoriasis on my elbows which a derm doctor said is caused by nerve problem and autoimmune disease. I was prescribed a tube of cream. Before I applied the cream at home, I checked and read the ingredients of the cream. I was shocked to find the cream has steroid in it. I threw the cream away. I went to a Chinese Medical Shop and an elderly Chinese physician took a look at my elbows and ankles and suggested to use Nixoderm ointment and a packet of herbal tea to boil and drink which is anti-inflammation. Twice a day, morning and evening, for seven days as directed, I applied the Nixoderm ointment on the two elbows and the psoriasis were gone. Hardly, a year later the psoriasis appeared on my two ankles and to this day it is still there. I bought the Nixoderm ointment and applied it on the ankles and though it is not completely healed the ointment has kept the stubborn psoriasis from spreading. Having said that, Dr. Jennifer, I am taking whey protein powder and creatine daily in addition to my diet which is not sufficient at all with vitamins. So in your opinion, whey and creatine protein powder is not a problem.

I also had/have psoriasis... Was probably caused by smoking/carbohydrates/bad nutrition Started with a keto diet (did that for 2 years) and psoriasis improved - (EAT saturated fats - less unsaturated fats - eat SALT (how much you like/feel like eating)) Avoid seeds oils - and maybe nightshade veggis After that i did 8 months carnivore and i stick to that since. You feel amazing.... eat once a day (23+h fasting).... less hunger... Also you can try to fast.... If you have psoriasis or other autoimmune issues and have some stored fat... try to fast for 3-7days at a time. Drink water and eat salt!

So after all of this your psoriasis has gone away? Because I've heard very mixed things about the carnivore diet, as fruits and vegetables hold a lot of important antioxidants to help treat psoriasis

There is so many factors Stress - diet - weather - body’s cycle. Healthy gut is the key that entails of exercise & cut out processed sugar. Eat whole foods. Avoid milk switch to almond milk/water. When a outbreak occurs sometime you may need a 3 day high dosage steroid course after this carry on with clean diet & exercise. Do not rely on the ointment/steroid creams.

@@mmmmmmmm1942 one problem is that in America, companies make a lot, a LOT of money from obese people desperate to lose weight. But it's in big business interest to keep people on the large side, for many lucrative reasons. So particularly in America, people buy into the "Big Is Beautiful" bs. It isn't, when you're a 5ft 4" 200lb female , for instance...or a 28stone 5ft 11in man. "She got curves for days" "Thick thighs" "Junk in the trunk" "Voluptuous" .etc Great if addressed to J Lo, or any other less than skeletal person. Just frigging lies if applied to clearly obese people, just delusional. case in point: some of the fat lads on Rupauls Dragrace...sorry, the "curvy girls"...most of whom are setting themselves up for unnecessary health issues later. Fed up of snowflakes celebrating EVERYTHING, without taking responsibility for ANYTHING... Not saying ANYONE should be shamed for being obese. But they should NOT be celebrated because of it. And I've been there. My true friends were those who discouraged me from self medicating with food, who took me out and made me accompany them to dance, exercise, mess around, walk miles, make better, more informed choices...by example and mutual discovery of the best way to live. Everyone needs this kind of support. We cannot do it completely alone.

@@kateoc8 I 100% agree. But the problem also is human are unable to make their own choices or be able to control themselves. I can easily eat McDonald’s and not over do it and still be healthy. But yeah. I’m a real “curvy girl” I have muscular thighs and big boobs but a smaller waist. That’s curvy. I’m 140 lbs. someone who’s 250lbs isn’t “curvy” and that’s the issue.
