Gotta feed them, yer ducks helped, no doubt, but they like lots of mulch and water. I bet that pond helped too. when the fruit leaves, so does the nutrient. Aloha!

Let's hope the ducks will return. It's still looking beautiful, though, there's probably lots of minerals left in the soil, it usually takes decades for the soil to get really depleted.

I guess you don't cut down the banana tree after it bears its bananas? I thought I read that was what one should do. It's then supposed to sprout a new tree very close to the cut down one. Maybe this was wrong advice? I had a healthy banana tree once (west of the Florida Turnpike) but it never bore fruit while I was there. The woodpeckers would get at the blossoms, messing them up. I guess I should have put some mesh around the flowers.

Probably not enough duck food around the property...Rick does not buy that stuff.

I think Rick said something about predators. The ducks were always fat and happy while there. There is a time and season for everything.🩷✝️

@@nanhoffman6241 Yes the raccoons became too numerous. I removed two of them and am keeping an eye out for more. Once safe I will re-introduce ducks. Generally when I get paid to do a duck removal I get a new group to start with.
