Another fantastic video, really like the focus on real life assemblies rather than just single components that rarely occur in real life machines other than for net shape production. Thank's 👍

Glad you enjoyed. Where possible going forward I am trying to concentrate on real world objects as people relate to them more. :)

A nice addition would be if constrained components were color coded and in the specific order in which they have been constrained. It would help in remembering which ones you already did or missed in very complicated assemblies.

Funny you should say that, the original patreon who's parts this come from wanted to color parts but for a different reason. They used to have a small hole at the bottom of one part to show which way up it was, after a get together we went through a crash course in A2Plus and colouring faces to show which part goes to what. But we did it on a face level. I like your idea of colour which ones you have already constrained.

Great Channel, learned a lot! Regarding assemblies: Is there a way to deactivate automatic refresh of the assembly? It is quite tiresome, to move the parts after each constraint you make, just to see the edges you need for the second constraint. It would be cool to be able to define many contraints in one step and only refresh the assembly once you have your constraints sorted out.

Darren, Just watching this tutorial again to refresh my memory and take advantage of a couple of procedures that will really improve my efficiency level. For me this really sharpens my skills 100 fold (times) Thanks Darren G_Dub

Hi great stuff again and thanks for all the freecad content!! I’m a fusion refugee and a luthier and have been in a deep dive in FC and Ondsel.. I’ve looked at and used the Marz guitar workbench but would love and greatly appreciate some vids on guitar building if you have time.. (like Austin Shaner and Audioshot have on guitar design for fusion ) if that would be possible.. again a huge thanks for the vids throughout the last few years .. cheers mate !! J

when we have huge imported parts (step/iges > 50mb), A2Plus updates the assembly very slowly. BTW., did you know A2plus can also constrain linked imported part?

Is there a way to add all assembly points and just calculate, or it has to be step by step? It would be niece to just set them in pairs, A1 to A2, B1 to B2 etc... If not, it would be a great addition to this workbench.

How much is it tolerant to changes in original parts? For example if you change sizes of pipes, distance between holes and their sizes, etc, or would use configuration tables.
@MangoJellySolutions8 ай бұрын
You have to be a bit careful of tnp. As long as the change doesn't cause a extra edge or face then you will be fine. But if it does you may have to update the assembly by reattaching the constraint.

Nice

That conflict tool could use some work, it would be nice is it pointed out why those constraints were conflicted because not everyone is going to remember to change that fixed value to false and could spend all day banging their head.

Totally agree, make life a lot easier.

Is this still parametric?
@MangoJellySolutions7 ай бұрын
Yes. there is a update parts in assembly icon. So if your parts in your sub assembly change or the sub assembly itself then these updates will be able to pass through to the main.
