Very clever design! The ability to toggle the elasticity is something I never considered, but I can see the benefits of doing so.

I really like it! I was just thinking about a spring and shock with a small amount of travel in the shin. I guess maybe making the toe a little bit longer. But I can see for a prosthetic what you have done is wonderful!

Just a dumb question: why not use a rubber foot with some internal cushions to absorb shock?

I am in no way affiliated with this person, but I believe the reason why prosthetic legs/feet are designed to mimic your real foot. When you walk, you push off of the ground with your feet with a lot of force. However, you also use your foot as a spring. Having high pushing force with just using rubber may be challenging.
